The owner was pretty informative when not busy. Did a great job for a lot cheaper than every other machine shop was wanting. While others quoted $250-550, and we're farther from me, for the same work Lund's quoted $130. Usually, you get what you pay for, but sometimes higher prices are a rip off and someone else will do a great job for a fraction of the cost. While reading reviews I'd take notice of the negative ones, but with Lund's, they seem to be people that don't understand either small business charges or how things work while having to work on engines. If I ever need engine work that I can't do(I'm an entry level mechanic, with limited amount of tools) I'll definitely be calling Lund's first.

Fair and Honest Pricing. Waited two weeks to get my vehicle in. Worth the wait. Work was done when estimated. Follow up and care for a job well done has been exceptional.

I would like to think Lund’s automotive for the quick turnaround on a rebuild of an old Chevy in-line six cylinder motor. Would also like to thank them for not selling me services that I did not need during the rebuild process I recommend for your automotive needs.Service: Engine repair

DO NOT USE LUND MACHINE. This man who claims to say he knows what he’s doing I’m sure on some less important jobs his works man ship will pass but not on anything important. His words on 2/20/22 were I’m gonna retire I don’t need the work. This was the seccond time I was gonna use him giving him a chance the first head I took has to go to another machine shop after him because he refused to clean the head witch is a vital step to a head job. He said he didn’t want to get his cleaner dirty instead of charging for it. He is lazy and you can not trust his work at all. Had to go somewhere else. Would not recommend taking anything at all.

I used Gene years ago to rebuild the 5.7 Hemi engine on my Ram 1500. It was a pleasant experience. I took all of Gene's advice and replaced some peripheral parts while the engine was removed. I ran that truck for years without a hint of a problem after the rebuild (until it was stolen).Gene was kind enough to let me tour the shop and see the machinery used to rebuild my engine. The whole process was less costly than I had expected, and I wouldn't hesitate to rebuild the engine of any other vehicle if I need to.

My boyfriend had gotten my head gaskets resurfaced here for my 2001 grand am. and they had returned them back in pristine condition! Like brand new. Not to mention how quickly they managed to get it taken care of? They know what they're doing.

I am restoring a 1966 GTO convertible and needed a machine shop to machine the Pontiac 389 engine. I am new to the area so I visited several machine shops before I landed at Lunds. Decided to use Lunds as Gene was very familiar with Pontiac engines. He is a no nonsense guy and told me what I needed and did not try to sell me things I didn't need. Very, very reasonable pricing and quality job performed on engine boring, rebuilding heads, crank, etc... I drove 2 1/2 hours to use Lunds, well worth the drive and i plan to use again for all future needs. Highly recommended.Service: Motor building

I brought my 84 F150 4x4, with a worn out 302, to Lunds Engine. Gene rebuilt the short block and replaced several crushed valves in the cylinder heads. He also tuned the carb and fixed a few other issues apart from the engine. The truck runs like new. I made the right choice bringing it to Lunds.Services: Motor building

I brought in my 1991 Mazda Miata for a total engine rebuild. Lunds did an awesome job with it. I was little nervous bringing him my baby, and he's not exactly... cordial. However, I wasn't there for that. I just needed work done and honestly he was fine, I didn't have any issues with the "customer service" or whatever. After the work was done, I did notice a little squeak in one of the pulleys after driving for a bit, so I mentioned to him and he had that fixed shy of 2 days. Fantastic.Services: Motor building

I used Lund’s Engine to mill down some 243 heads I was putting on my ls1 corvette. They did amazing work extremely quickly. The heads sat perfectly on the block and have had zero issues since the install. Will definitely use again for any machining work.Service: Engine repair
