Just stopped there along with a couple friends. Went in and the staff there were so friendly and so willing to be of the most help to be sure my friend got all she needed there that day. Everything I saw that day appear to be all a public library in my mind should be.

Honestly if I could leave no stars I would. Stay away from this library. The old crone behind the counter couldn’t be more rude or condescending if she tried. I came in to pay for a book my kid lost at school. She quoted the book at 33 dollars, which threw me because on Amazon I can buy the same book for $20. But I thought fine, it’s whatever. I only had $30 on me, and the old creature behind the desk told me if I didn’t come back by Friday she would file a police report, OVER THREE DOLLARS! She clearly miserable, and hates life. With everything going on the world, this woman wants to waste police and other resources over three dollars. She ruined the library which is sad because libraries have always been my refuge. Absolutely will never return, which is probably the goal of this horrible woman. They do have a young man, and girl who were always polite and seemed really pleased with having visitors. Fire the old crone and promote one of them.

The people that work here are the most helpful. I got copies, sent a fax and used the computer to get on the world wide web. There's WiFi at no cost. It also offers movies to rent. I had to look up a story that was in the newspaper last year and I found it. Great library and they have books to read. That's awesome. There's both fiction and nonfiction.

I especially appreciate the Seed Swap, which repurposes the old card catalog into a neat little community resource

I went to inquire about specific books to see if they accepted donations. A very nice gentlemen told me they did and would help me unload them.

My family moved here almost 13 years ago. We didn't know many people and a lot of our time was spent here, in the children's area, using the computers, finding a great book, and getting to know the librarians. It was a sort of second home to us. Within the last few years there have been many unfamiliar faces and a management change that I have noted has not been for the best. The library catalog has been reorganized alphabetically, rather than by genre or by series. It's very frustrating when trying to find number in the series when an author is prolific. Back then the library was always busy, a whirlwind of activities in the children's department, many users at the computers, and people in corner chairs reading newspapers, magazines, or perusing books. Spaces have been reorganized in confusing, inconvenient ways. The feeling is more to come in, get what you want and leave. There is no sense of exploring, no pleasure in discovery of a new book, no desire to while away a few hours of a public space that we, the residents, have paid for. And the parking lot shows it. Remember when it use to be filled on a Saturday afternoon? Now you see cars in the lot and wonder what kind of shower is going on in the party room. Scott is a great reason to hang about. He is one of the new faces and is fun, congenial and never makes it seem as if you are a burden. I don't know what suggestions to make anymore here as things have slowly gotten worse. Most workers don't seem happy, the new books have a heavy agenda, and the children's area has a heavy weight to it with no children about or crafts or projects happening. Covid did a number on our culture, and I think our city did not fair well with it's leadership's numerous faux pas. It was a difficult time. Can our city library recover? The management doesn't seem to want to, it's money comes ultimately from us. My expertise is not in a library's becoming a benefit to the public rather than just a good place to find a book, neither do they pay me for it. If this is all we expect from our public spaces, this'll be all we get.
