The great authentic Old West roots survive to this day and walking into this high tin-ceiling, wood floor store defines this type of small town Mercantile that allowed homesteaders and ranchers to survive and thrive. Maintains the old school courtesy and friendliness of rural America as well; great staff all around. Locally owned and operated, no chains here but stocked with everything needed.18 months since moving here, away from the WalMarts and Wincos so yes, I noticed the prices were somewhat higher than I was used to at the huge chains but this has been my witnessed reality:We really ARE remote. Doesn't look far south from the main interstate crossing the state but no way to transport via trucks unless backtracking via Broadus or doing a long run past Little Big Horn. Comes with the territory. So go 43 miles one-way to the Broadus IGA instead? As well as being a chain store with large deliveries, the IGA is easier to access shipping-wise. I found it helpful if doing a giant monthly run, especially if needing large bulk items like 30 pounds of cat food. But not any more.Food prices have soared to the point that spending the extra fuel and time isn't worth it. Better to support local businesses and shopping smart is always important.Oh. And Cooper the Cat is extremely helpful, knowledgeable about stock and a great resource.

As a cdl otr driver, I've been into alot of small stores. I was very impressed with the customer service and friendly atmosphere. Although it is a small store it has a big selection of just about anything one might need. Was impressed to see a small wine selection.Definitely recommend this historically significant little store ?.

Very friendly, great atmosphere. Prices are good, considering it's a small non franchised or chain store.
