My girlfriend Mary Lee and I went on Friday afternoon. It is amazing how the best sellers keep rolling in and at exceptional prices. I chose 6 books including 2 by Dean Koontz. Checkout was a breeze. My clerk, her name was Jenn with 2 Ns was Charming, Funny and Delightful. We will always choose Grassroots and its Fun Loving team as our go to for great books.

Nothing fancy, but full of treasures. What looks like an old service station at one time, has been this fabulous bookstore for years. I pass it a lot coming and going to Costco. And every once in awhile stop to check out new finds. GR is very well organized. Inside all the areas are well labeled. On nice days there are sale racks out front in the parking lot. During the summer go to the west side of the building and through the gate. There are 30 or more tables with boxes and boxes of books on clearance. Still very well organized- each table is labeled with the type of books in the boxes. GR carries brand new and used books. They have their own private parking lot and some street parking that is also free. They accept credit cards and cash.

Great bookstore-plenty of random pulp novels and resource books outside and then an entire sectionalized bookstore inside. Weekend sales on bulk books and frree book coupons on their website. The employess are great-very knowledgeable and friendly. Everytime I go to either the Toyota dealer for service or Costco (both 2 blocks north) I visit Grassroots. Wonderful place-so glad that Amazon hasn't killed off this bookstore!!! Dave in Reno

My husband is in the hospital and I ran out of books to read so I stopped by this bookstore. Fantastic selection of books at super prices. I picked up a hard cover James Paterson book for a dollar. I purchased four books and walked out only paying six dollars. We live out of town but frequent Reno often. I will be including this bookstore in future stops. Thanks for the books.

Seriously our new favorite used book store in Reno! Can't believe it had been a few years since we had been here. Never thinking about it while in Reno. Prices are amazing and staff was super friendly. We even came on their Sunday parking lot sale, fill a bag for $5. After finding at least a dozen books and some workbooks for my granddaugher, we purchased them and decided to walk around outside to there parking lot sale. Dang, we ended up with a $5 bag of more books we couldn't refuse for that price, lol. I think it was a successful book shopping day.

Incredible prices, very well organized. They had several older scifi books that I've been looking for. Most used books are $2 or $4, new books are discounted off the sticker price. And the staff is very nice!

I love to discover new bookstores when I travel. Grassroots Books has an amazing side walk sale that allows you to buy a bag full of books for $5. I found multiple medical gems for a fraction of the cost. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is no dedicated area for romance.

My favorite local book store. The prices can’t be beat, they carry new releases, they are open late enough to pop in after I get off of work, and the employees are always lovely and have great recommendations.

If you're looking for a bookstore that still has that small town book store feel, this is the place to go! The prices are reasonable, they have frequent sales, and every Sunday, they have the five dollar bag sale. This means, in the area where they have the books specifically for that sale, if you can fit it in a paper bag, The whole bag is five dollars. We love these because kids books can get expensive over time, so hunting for a really good kids book is a lot of fun, especially when you find books for yourself! We found lots of cookbooks and a few kids books today. All in all, great fines, from a bookstore that we love!

I love this bookstore! They had an outdoor sale while I was there and great prices on books inside. They even have new books for discounted price. They can order any book as well if needed. I will be back the next time I am in Reno.

I go to this bookstore every time I go to Reno. Really nice and helpful people. They have a good selection of books and the outside $1 bargain books section is excellent. I have never gone there without finding something to buy.

Don't try selling here anymore. They've gotten surprisingly cheap with their offers. Took in 15 books this week, they took 11. 2 were new edition hard covers, the rest were classics (Alice in Wonderland, Redwall, Lord if the Flies) with now marks or tears and they gave me 3 whole dollars (they've given this same amount twice before, as well). Not sure what changed. But they're not an enjoyable store anymore. Go visit Sundance Books instead. Cleaner, more diverse, decent prices.
