Seriously a must stop! We walked in and Jason instantly greeted us, great dude! We chatted for a while. Made us feel at home. After we did the mine tour and Spencer was our guy! That one funny human. Over all it was a great experience

Underground mine Tours ,It was. OKEY , but not worth $12 !!!Big groups, and such narrow tunnel and super small displays !!! If you are one of the last people of the line you won’t be able to listen or to see what the guide is explaining about it! So make sure you get the middle part of the line ! Lol

Do not expect any service from Jason..stood at the bar during music there and he was busy visiting with his friends as usual..he walked by me 4 times..smiles and went to help others who had just come up..I walked away..he is like this all the time and the one kicker was the night I was listening to music and once again outside talking and partying with his buddies he came back in asked what I wanted told him 2 beers (12.00) and he gave me back a 5 dollar bill from my 20..asked him where my change was he glared at me said "that's my tip" .watch out for him..the other bartenders are gret

Gidget has to be the BEST bartender I've ever met. She has more energy than the energizer bunny and makes every one have a great time. She's got stories that never end. Stop in to see her and have a beer or 12 with her. You've never had a better time than here. The mine tour is in the back and great too. See Spencer

This was fun and I suppose extra special. They weren't really busy and accommodated us with a private tour. Our son is special needs and kind of slow about walking. Especially when the terrain is uneven or very unusual. Such is the way with mines! Our guide was very understanding and slowed things down for us in one way and yet got us through in no time at all. Maybe it was so much fun that the time flew by. Anyway, there is some history and engineering that is shared that is surprising. A great addition to your trip to Virginia City. Don't pass this up.

Years ago I went through a tour here and remember it being pretty good. This time however I was highly disappointed. I wanted to share it with my fiancé and it was terrible! The man who was selling tickets and who said he was a family member of owner ended up being the one who did the tour and I swear he was drinking or on something. The information was very much a skit and just seemed pretty unprofessional our energies just did not vibe, it was not authentic at all more, like a side show act. He started the tour which was basically a memorized skit but he seemed distracted and was listening to people outside the shaft and about 5-7 min into it he said he forgot to change the return time sign and had to leave us and run out and for us to wait. He then asked the people outside of they wanted to take the tour and told us he was going to add them. So he had to sell them tickets while we waited. I was thinking oh no we have to listen to all that again but he did a shortened version. I felt like they got an even shorter end of the stick than us. All in all this is NOTHING like the Chollar Mine Tour which is very informative and more authentic, and lead by guys that know what they are talking about and can answer questions. Totally not worth the price. I gave it two stars instead of one since you do actually get to walk back in the shaft but the tour used to be so much better when the older man who looked like an actual miner did it.

We came here for a tour of the mine and Spencer was our tour guide. He is quite funny and informative and knows his stuff. His language was a bit "colorful" for our group which had children as young as 6. The mine was a 30 minute tour that only stretched back about 150 feet into the mine or so. Not a whole lot to see but the story telling is good.

Got a drink here as well as an awesome tour of the underground mine. The bartender was funny and lively. We were entertained and charmed by her silliness. It was touristy but still had some historic charm. The tour of the mine was cool, it's not very long but packed with cool info and stories. Totally worth the 12 bucks, don't be cheap help fund the local economy. Our tour guide was goofy and charming great well rehearsed spill. Tip you guide too! I firmly believe in making sure I help keep small business alive. Charming and entertaining . Stop in

Excellent tour! Tour guide was knowledgeable, fun and interesting! The real deal! Only about 25 minutes long. Trek through actual mine under the bar.

Every year, this is our go to hang out while in Virginia City. Inside you'll find killer hot dogs and good stiff drinks by the bestest bartender, Gidget. The mine tour they offer inside is awesome, leave a coin inside and you'll forever have a piece of you left in a mine in Virginia City. We look forward to seeing Gidget every 4th when celebrating our wedding anniversary in VC. She always remembers us and this place feels comfy. See you next year for lemon drops, beers and cheese dogs in the Ponderosa!
