I highly recommend Nadia at Great Clips at the South Cove Plaza in Bayonne, NJ! I've had long hair for years now, which has always looked like ... well, like long hair. It didn't do anything for my face. It wasn't easy to take care of. I was tired of it. It never looked the way I wanted it to. I walked into Great Clips on my way to do some shopping at the nearby Stop n Shop. I was immediately greeted by Nadia. She was professional and friendly. I told her what I was thinking of doing with my hair. I showed her some pictures of styles similar to what I wanted. She took the time to look over the pictures and ask me some questions. Throughout the haircut, she'd stop and ask me more questions to ensure I was getting the cut I wanted. The final haircut turned out GREAT! It does exactly what I wanted it to do for my face. It's so much easier to take care of. My husband loves it, too! If you need a change of pace with your hair, go see Nadia at Great Clips in Bayonne. She knows exactly what she's doing and is so easy to work with!

This starts with a bad experience. I checked in online so I would walk in, get a cut, leave to do the other things I planned for the night. Arrived 7 minutes after checking in (it showed 0 minutes wait time), waited 15 minutes and was then asked to wait for someone who had walked in just prior (without checking in). There is a reason the franchise offers this service, I expect the franchisees to abide by their rules and standards.

The woman that opens up the shop Wednesday through Monday is so very nice. Polite kind and always does a fabulous job cutting my hair.

I have used it for a fast boys haircut for my son. Now that they have on line appointments you have to wait. What’s the point of walk ins then? Today, I walked in early because I needed a quick trim because my usual stylist in a different salon was off. There’s a cutter ( I won’t say hairdresser or stylist) named Nadia I think, who can NOT cut hair and told to go to her. She screwed up my son’s hair and I only went back for convenience today and left. Would never, ever, go to her. I remember watching her once screwing up a guys haircut sitting waiting . No. Way. Walked out and will never go again. Avoid.

I will never come back here. I never write yelp reviews, but I had to log back in just to write this. I've had a pixie cut for the past 10+ years and I would pop in great clips every so often for a trim. It was never an amazing haircut, but it did the job and I typically left pretty happy. In this last year to decided to painstakingly grow my hair out, and it had gotten just to my shoulder length. I hadn't had a trim in a few months and I was in the area so figured I would stop in. The woman at the desk asked if I had been there before and I said , yes but not for a long time. She printed the history receipt from my last cut and said "you want clippers size 4?" I explained that must have been very old since I've been growing my hair out for a long time. I told her I wanted long layers and a bang trim. She started in the back and said "ok I'm going to take off an inch and even out your layers". I was totally fine with that and closed my eyes, trying to enjoy the experience of getting a haircut. Biggest. Mistake. Ever. I opened my eyes and she had cut inches out of the top of my hair, the whole while telling me how great it looks (and telling me how horrible my hair looked before she started cutting it). I ended up with a serious feathered mullet and I was mortified. I tried to explain that it was not what I asked for or wanted, and she became very defensive and told me I didn't know what I wanted. I had to insist that she cut the back to even it out with everything else. I explained again and again how I was growing it out. She did not apologize or even say that she misunderstood me. She continued to defend her haircut and that the "style" was amazing. I was at a loss for words. I paid for the haircut and left defeated and embarrassed that someone did that to me. I'm not picky when it comes to my hair, but it really seemed like she had no concern for what her client wanted. I have never complained to a hairdresser before and I have never not tipped, but I simply could not. I wish I didn't even pay for the haircut, but I just wanted to get the hell out of there. I can't believe I went in with shoulder length hair, and ended up with a pixie cut again. My hair is now 2-3 inches long and it will be another year to get it back. This company needs to get some serious training for their employees on communication to make sure they understand what their clients want, not to mention not insulting their clients during their cuts.

On 6/8/19 I paid $62 for a haircut and the worst blowout of my life. I have straight hair so I thought that would make it easier but my blowout looked like a 2 year old did my hair. I came back (after I had already left) because my hair looked so bad and I was so mad at myself for paying so much money for something that looked so horrible. I came back, made my case while she kept telling me over and over that the humidity is the reason my hair looked so ugly. If you don't want the horrible experience I had, stay away.

Horrible experience. The lady ruined my sons hair, his bangs were slanted and no, he wasnt moving or anything. She didnt even know how to hold a scissor and properly do an overall even haircut. Dont know what is their criteria is for hiring!

I am on a business trip and really needed a haircut. I always go to great clips back home and this being the closest location I decided to give it a chance regardless of the the terrible reviews. Nadia was my artist. She did an amazing job. She was friendly and professional. My cut came out just the way I wanted.
