I was buying a piece of wood to make a shelf and asked for help. After waiting 10 minutes I said to the employee Eddie that I asked for help but no one came and he responded in the nastiest tone "obviously no one is in that department. What do you need." And I explained it nicely but when he got to the saw I asked for a cut and he looked at me and said nastily "I can't do that. Does it look like I have the tools for that". Eddie is a horrible worker and I will be taking the extra drive somewhere else to not be treated like that.

Went to simply have a key made. I walk in, some guy says go to this aisle and i head over. Another worker tells me "I shouldve just gone to shoprite to do it." Then instructs me to head to this machine to do it myself...I get there and the machine was "out of order." So i go back to the aisle and a 3rd worker takes my key only to say "were out of this key have a nice day." Seriously does anybody want to work anymore?? I spent 30 minutes in there for a 2 second job. What a waste of time. Lowes made my key pretty easily.

The only Home Depot in the area that doesn't have paper bags. Don't shop here if you have to buy several small items. Instead, go to the Butler or Parsippany locations where they provide the customer with the convenience of paper bags. I guess the store manager at the Montville location doesn't believe in paper bags.

This place has been going down hill for years! The one is parsippany is 100% better! Associates are always willing to help and the inventory is well organized, displayed and well stocked.

always have plenty of items in stock. Today I picked up mums, had so many different colors at a reasonable price of $6.98 each.

Rented an 11lb demolition hammer. Clerk had computer trouble and I ended up standing around for nearly an hour before I could leave (even though I reserved it the day before and paid online). Had to pay a 2nd deposit. Returned it around the same time the next day, but I was charged for an entire extra day because of the way the clerk rang up the rental. My rental period still began at my original reservation time even though that's not what I was able to pick up the tool. Ended up paying $250 to use a $300 tool for 8 hours. Not worth it; could have bought a cheapo version at harbor freight and owned it forever.

Without a doubt, this is the absolute best Home Depot in the area! The customer service is incredible, and everyone goes out of their way to both provide assistance, as well as resolve issues. I have NEVER encountered a better managed store than Home Depot in Montville.5 Stars!

Just left Home Depot Montville …. Asked an Associate (several standing around doing nothing in the lumber department) if they would cut wood lattice to size, as we have had done several times in the past. The answer today was No …. Found a Manager explained we had it cut to size in the past. Her answer “ it’s up to the Associate’s discretion “ …… nice customer service. Left everything, heading to Lowe’s. Happy 4th ??

I am very displeased with the personnel of this Home Depot. They are inept, rude -- and totally unknowledgeable of their departments. Nobody knows where anything is. A customer is on his or her own when they attempt to shop here -- and if you ask for assistance -- they look at you as though you are bothering them. Gone are the days when the customer was always right -- and Home Depot is a prime example of this.

This is the best Home Depot mainly because of one thing: The staff is excellent! Everyone I've dealt with there has been helpful, competent, and pleasant. I drive past two other Home Depot stores to get there. Two folks in particular stand out: 1- Chris who always engages with my daughter every time she has to go with Dad to get things for work. He is extremely pleasant and helpful and always makes sure to give her the little Home Depot project kits. Perfect for a handy-dad's five year old. He even has her help ring things up. 2- Rob who pointed out the Home Depot app to me which has saved me money and makes managing purchase orders a snap. I was BIG TIME leaving money on the table by not using it. Both the "perks" and the PO management are valuable and save me time. Never would've know about it in other stores because no one would have engaged me. Bonus- this is also the cleanest Home Depot I've ever been in and unlike other locations they don't move things around on a near daily basis (lookin at you, route 10). The only downside is that since it is a smaller HD, some specialty items may not be in stock. No big deal considering how many other locations there are nearby. That said I DREAD Bloomfield and Parsippany do to the constant product movements and some members of the staff.... Again, this Home Depot is great. It feels like HD from 20 years ago, which is a very good thing.

This is one of my Go to for the home repairs . When I have an idea of what I want to to do in each room of the house , I get it done with the help of this location's materials resources and help with staff here is good too.

If you enjoy the rude workers this is your place to go. They block the emergency exits with stair lifts and ladders to "stop people from shoplifting" - numerous times they've been told to move them as it's illegal to block fire exits. They dont care. I complained to corporate and they dont care. The managers there dont care. Nobody cares until an emergency happens and people cant get out! Their own worker told us there was a gas leak & the manager refused to evacuate customers and got in trouble

Wish I could give zero stars for the first time using home delivery. Charged me $79.00 and delivered the shipment at 3 different times, plus they missed my due date by almost a week. If it actually shows up today??? To make matters worse, 2 items were left off and I had to do arrange for curbside pick up. What was the point of home delivery??? Spent almost 2 hour going back and forth to the store. What a mess the store was, after 5 attempts we located the order on 3 different carts. I get home and start the project and realize 2 pieces of the order are missing! 45 minutes on hold, then another attempt to connect and after 30 minutes we speak to a rep. They can't credit me for the 2 missing items and0 they want us to drive back to the store to get the credit and or the 2 missing pieces!!!! On Memorial day weekend!??!?! I went to a local lumber yard and got the 2 pieces at almost the same price as HD. So bottom line, out the $79.00 for delivery, out the $28.00 for the wood that was missing, out another $32.00 for the replacement lumber and 2 hours of travel time and almost 2 hours on hold. Never, ever again would I do on-line ordering. I would use my local people first. Huge Lesson learned!

Exceptional customer service. Lowes in E Rutherford used Covid as an excuse for their incompetence. Funny, Home Depot is operating under the same extraordinary conditions, but its employees had no trouble at all going above and beyond for me, and that's what they did - from the person who helped me on the phone to the two great employees who helped me in the store find patio chairs then check out. So... thank you Kaina and Jaiden! And thank you phone person (sorry for not getting your name). I used to always shop at Lowes, but no more. Home Depot will get all my business from now on.
