Stopped by here on our way to another destination. We were here on a Friday and Sunday around lunch time and there were no issues finding seats or parking. Great options of ramen, sushi, onigiri, mochi donut, boba tea and of course grocery and snack shopping.

I have come here many times in the past. This time I took my youngest 9 year old son here. He had a blast. We cropped around the area, we shopped at the “little Japan” store near the supermarket and then shopped at the Mitsuwa market inside. Two hours later and after munching on some freshest poke dishes from local vendors we were heading home. Good times!

Sadly this place has now closed as of April 20th or so. My family absolutely loved their boba shakes

Came here looking for bubble tea. I thought I was getting roasted green tea (hoji) bubble tea but it was actually a shake with boba. It tasted like a mixture of vanilla ice cream with roasted green tea and it was good except a tad too sweet. We also ordered the regular green tea shake with boba and it was also good. Next time I'll try the latte. They also sell packaged tea and tea accessories. Make sure you give this place a try if you're in Mitsuwa.

In the blistering chill of winter, a hot cup of tea brings solace to the soul. Matcha Love's tea lattes are especially curative thanks to a nice dose of sweetness. I've come to Matcha Love throughout the seasons and their Black Sesame and Matcha shakes are musts for the summer--they're especially creamy and frothy. But for these trying times, I got the small hojicha latte and matcha latte. This is the only place I know with hojicha lattes which is an absolute shame; hojicha's smoky aroma really shines when mixed with frothed milk. I got my latte with almond milk and was surprised when it tasted just as good as versions with regular milk. These drinks are pricy, both of them totaling to ~$10. But they're well worth the warmth and novelty.

Matcha love is something I always look forward to whenever I visit mitsuwa. My favorite ice cream flavor was black sesame but on my most recent visit, they had only white sesame and no black sesame. The white sesame was alright but I honestly don't know if I'd go back to matcha love if they don't bring back the black sesame. Other than that, the hojicha was sweet and cinnamon-y and the matcha is what you would expect from matcha ice cream

Ice cream here is amazing! It is a must get when going here. I recommend the roasted green tea ice cream.

Very cute shop that served great ice cold lattes. Ordered a hoji chai latte with almond milk and matcha latte with soy milk. Creamy, not too sweet and absolutely delicious. The drink was not bitter at all and did not feel heavy. Very smooth and a drink I would order again. However, next time I am back I will be trying the black sesame soft serve!

Lurve everything in this cute matcha tea spot inside Mitsuwa Marketplace! My favorite has always been the soft serve ice cream - Matcha & Black Sesame were always my OG soft serve flavors. Decided to try the new flavors - Hoji & Madagascar Vanilla, creamy and delightful as always, but the Hoji Tea taste is bit weak and always undetectable, so probably won't get them again. The mango Boba Shake was fun - chewy boba, but again the mango flavor was lacking and I couldn't taste it (maybe that means they actually use the real fruit instead of the concentrated artificial stuff?), but either way, I wouldn't recommend it if you're hoping for a tropical-in-your mouth kinda of flavor. They also have tea bags for purchase, and very aesthetically gift-wrapped matcha starter sets that would make great gift for any matcha lovers!

Oh, Matcha Love...how I adore thee. You were the first establishment that introduced me to bubble tea. And...you still seem to be the standard for this creamy, sweet treat. In all honesty, Matcha Love is one amazing kiosk within the Mitsuwa Marketplace. I do have a soft spot for their bubble tea, and all other bubble teas are compared to the one here. Now, what's unique about their bubble tea is that it's made with ice cream mix - yes, the same ice cream mix you find in their...well, ice cream. Because of this, it's especially rich and creamy, so much so that their large sizes are actually TOO much. Hoji (roasted green tea) is my favorite flavor. It's not as sweet as the other flavors, but it's have a nutty, coffee-like profile. Black sesame is next, followed by Matcha itself. You can get ice cream of the same flavors, too. Now, while this is the standard for every bubble tea that I will ever drink, I can't give it five stars out of the gate, although it did introduce me to this love. They're a bit inconsistent, as sometimes the boba are stale and chewy or the employees (usually young high school kids) are messing around with one another as the line adds up. But still, don't let this deter you. This bubble tea is better than Umacha, in my opinion. Umacha is great, but it's a totally different experience than Matcha Love. I haven't tried the bubble tea at Kai Sweets yet. It would be interesting to compare them. All in all, Matcha Love is love itself. Don't pass up a trip to Mitsuwa without trying their one-of-a-kind boba tea. Even if you don't love it like me, you should still experience it once, as it is a unique boba experience.

Adding my 5 stars to the multitude of other reviews. Great and authentic Japanese marketplace with a huge variety of specialized food and items to try out. If you haven't had them before and like donuts, the mochi donuts are incredible. You'll thank me later.

Always looked forward to the hojicha soft serve here whenever I'm in the area. However, the last two times I got the hojicha soft serve, it just tasted like vanilla. There was barely any hojicha flavor. The first time this happened (about a month ago) it was disappointing, but I thought maybe it was just an off day. However, today I got it again and it was still very much just vanilla with only the slightest hojicha flavor.

The Mitsuwa has excellent Japanese food from several restaurants. We ate at the food court in the marketplace, had tuna katsu for only $14, and it was great. All tables were cleaned as soon as they were empty. Also had great freshly-made crepes. There is also a hotpot restaurant with great views. Wonderful Japanese groceries, snacks, manga books, toys, and more. Also, it is alongside the Hudson Waterfront Walkway. We took a nice walk along the river with wonderful views of Manhattan. Great night out, or daytime outing.

Went to matcha Love by Ito En for green tea and black sesame soft serve. A small cup is $4.25 and don't be mislead, a small cup is still massive! Unfortunately because of COVID precautions, they don't offer cones but they offer waffle cups. The wait does take a bit of time but I think it was totally worth it!
