A diverse, curated selection of lovingly maintained and beautifully presented antiques and curios sets this store above the rest. The owner is both knowledgeable and helpful, and our entire browsing and buying experience was a pleasure. We'll definitely be back!

Walked in this place today , said hi to the gentleman working there twice and with no one else in the shop i was ignored . This man thinks he is better than me i guess ?? Well sir i want to let you know that ive been coming to that location before you were even there ( im friends with Jan from the old train store ) and with your smug attitude i wouldnt recomend buying anything from you . Have you ever taken a sales course ?? The best part about this all is i spent my money elsewhere but next time i come in there i will be wearing a camera so everyone can see how you act ... have fun sitting at your desk today , you could have possibly made a sale today but you chose to be snooty...

Went in this shop today , was the only one in the shop . I say hi to the guy working there twice and he puts his nose in the air and ignores me . The next time i go im gonna record all this behavior because this is no way to treat a customer in any type of business . If you want to be snooty then dont run a store .... you could have made a sale today with your empty store but you chose to be snooty ... keep up the good work Hopefully a nice store with friendly management moves in once you close ...

Had a great experience selling some old trading cards with the owner and his son. While its not their specialty, the level of competency and knowledge of sports memorabilia and sports in general, is great for sharing stories, opinions, and general shoot the s#!+ conversation. Hidden in a lot right across from the Metuchen section of the railline.

Always changing collections of distinctive art objects, primarily Beaux-Arts and art deco periods. Never just one piece, but small assortments to choose from.

Just visited this wonderful antique store in Somerville. The owner, Sam was so accommodating and we are very excited by our newest yet oldest purchase in some time. Living In The Past Antiques is a must visit and we can't wait to go back!

The best antique store I’ve ever seen for Art Deco, 1920s, items in particular. Prices range from cheap but very fun old popular mechanics magazines from around WWII to moderately priced barware items to more expensive items like female figure lamps that ooze Art Deco glamour. This shop doesn’t just have the good stuff, it has ONLY good stuff. There’s no over priced creepy dolls or ugly mismatched dishes here. This place is clearly owned by someone who doesn’t just love old things, they love how old things breath life into history. I’ve been in a lot of antique stores and this place is a real treasure.

While Strolling Somerville NJ ‘s Main St. , after a fine dinner , come to many of our retail establishments for their unique gifts and “finds” . Living in the Past Antiques is one of those special places that house incredible antiques that are found no where else and touches your heart and eyes ..

As a lifelong collector of antiques, it was awesome to visit this shop. Quality shops are becoming harder and harder to find and I am "old school" ....... don't appreciate on-line searching. Want to see and touch. Living in The Past is a treasure. Filled with so many fabulous, authenticated pieces, you don't know where to look first. It's an art deco lover's paradise! Somerville is easy to get to and it is worth the trip from anywhere to visit this special shop.

Awesome and tasteful items. Not your typical garbage antique store. This is so much more. I wanted to buy the entire store. Definitely a must-see stop as you stroll around Somerville. Highly recommended!

I LOVE how organized this place is! Omg! Most antique stores are cluttered and things are all over the place, but this place is nice and organized and spread out so you can get a good look at everything and not worry about bumping into something or accidentally knocking something over to get to what you want. The guy working there was really nice too, open to talking and educating you on things as well. Prices were really good too, it's got something for all budgets, saw nice woodworking tools for like $15. I deff reccomend shopping here, or at least check out what they have, everything also has a description on the price tag so you might learn something too!
