From Johnsons Of Madrid Galleries of Fine and Fiber Art
The Johnsons of Madrid is the Largest, and Oldest gallery on the famous Turquoise Trail. Started by Mel and Diana Johnson, along with their children, the gallery set the tone for the future of the area as an artistic haven. Currently the gallery has several rooms. First is a room of rotating exhibits representing around 100 artists from the New Mexico area. There is also a fiber gallery representing around 50 artists, and featuring La Modista, a collaborative fashion line between Mel and Diana. One of the more unique spaces is Christmas City Gallery, featuring Toys as Art. Mel Johnson also has a permanent exhibit of his amazing paintings. The Johnsons have always taken it upon themselves to preserve the old mining history of Madrid as well.
