We stopped in at Chez Mamou after skiing on Christmas Day and a week after. The food was delicious. We would definitely go again.

Ooh Mamou! We came there based on a last-minute recommendation from Susan at Susan's Christmas shop nearby.
We went there for lunch but came during the great NM semi-lockdown. The front areas facing the street get filled fast, but they also have a quaint and quite warm back patio (thanks to tons of powerful heat lamps).
Kelsey was wonderfully attentive and friendly.
Food: Excellent! Paillard de Poulet tastes 10x better than the menu's description. Trust me! The Duck Confit was also delicious, but the PdP won the prize! So much better than any of the food at La Fonda on the Plaza (where we are staying).
Verdict: Oui Oui, Oui Oui, Oui Oui! Definitely will eat here again next time we are in Santa Freeze (I mean Santa Fe).

Chez Mamou has some bright spots despite the challenges COVID is placing on Santa Fe restaurants. While not large, the heated outdoor patio the restaurant has created provides a warm, intimate atmosphere which is enjoyable. The French onion soup was the highlight of the meal, served pipin' hot with the delicious, onion-rich broth you expect. However, the white wine-braised Mussels were underwhelming and lacked the upfront, rich flavors you normally associate with French mussel dishes. The scallops, while plated very nicely, could have been seared more outside to create more complex textures in the dish. The bistro offers a wide variety of deserts which were very tasty and thoughtfully prepared.

This restaurant saved our night. We were getting really irritated walking around to find a place to eat. With all the restrictions in place, most restaurants were full. It is very cold outside. Suddenly we saw Mamou, I had to rub my eyes since it looked too good to be true with its great ambiance, welcoming heaters. The staff and the food were superb. We picked up pastries for next morning's breakfast too. Thank you for turning our night around to a romantic one, Chez Mamou!

The food is decent but terrible service. We haven't felt this unwelcome and disrespected in a long time. Very disappointing, especially during the pandemic, when it is a big deal to go out for a meal.
The bread came when the meal was almost done and the soup was served at the same time as the entrees so we couldn't eat one without having the other get cold first. Please hire more well trained staff.

We were able to sit at a table outside and it was lovely! They had a few space heaters and the sun helped keep us plenty warm! The brunch was incredible and the croque madame rivaled ones that I had in France! The service was also great, would definitely recommend!!

Beyond the line of excellence in service, quality of Real French cuisine atmosphere and the beautiful personalities of each server. Now on to the decadent pastries baked every day . Taste of one of the multitude of treats will have your mind float to one of the many sidewalk cafe on the Champs. I loved this piece of Heaven two blocks from the square.

Elegant, serene ambiance. Fantastic brunch cuisine!

While visiting Santa Fe, we ate breakfast and lunch at this very charming French bistro. The food was superb, staff friendly, and the owner was charming. Also found some beautiful pieces of jewelry at the attached boutique run by the owner. You have to include a stop here on your next trip to Santa Fe

Review from a french person.. very nice staff, nice place, quiet. Very good food. Loved the dessert. My cordon bleue tested nothing like a cordon bleu but was good. Waiter was nice and talkative. A bit expensive, but food in SF is expensive anyway and French food in the US is always expensive..

Delicious food and cute atmosphere. However, upon our arrival, I was ignored and was spoken rather rudely to by a woman I believe was the owner. Our waitress was nice but was kind of inattentive. She did give us cookies as an apology, though!

First time really having French food and Chez did not disappoint! Went here for my anniversary and we ordered mussels, French onion soup, and the duck pasta, to name a few. I loved the pasta. Our service was good as well

Walked in to see what pastries were offered. Was completely blown off by the woman taking my order. Came in from out of to grab a delicious French pastry instead I walked out empty handed.

The most horrendous service I’ve encountered. What started off as a beautiful Sunday morning looking forward to brunch at a place I’d yet to eat at in Santa Fe turned into being seated in the sun for 15 minutes before being asked for our drink order. Then an additional 15 minutes before our water was delivered, yet missing my cappuccino. Our food was delivered missing the salmon carpaccio and side of scrambled eggs. When our meal was nearly finished we were asked what drinks we had and I reminded her of my cappuccino to which she didn’t seem to care. I asked again for the scrambled eggs and carpaccio. The eggs arrived when our plates were empty and pushed to the side. There was no responsibility taken and nothing done to make it right.Living in Santa Fe it’s nice to have a variety of great restaurants. Unfortunately this is not one of them I’ll be recommending or making a second appearance.

We came here for dinner one evening and then breakfast the next day just because it was so close to our hotel. The ambiance is quite charming and the servers were friendly. The french onion soup was excellent, the salad was decent, and the breakfast was very rich for my tastes. The pastries on the other hand were quite good! I felt overall the food was a bit overpriced but perhaps that is due to the area.

Nicely decorated. Good coffee. Clean. The pastries lacked the flaky nature of most French pastries.

Edit to 1 Star: let me tell you about checking out! Kimberly is the problem! Never telling us the specials , bringing wrong wine, no bread - even after we asked, and then said come inside to pay. My sister goes inside ( covid and all ) and Kimberly says , would you like to buy a pastry to go ? Are you kidding ? My much nicer sister asked for a manager ... she refused, stating she has ZERO discretion, and any issues or discounts , we had to call the owner . What ? She even lied to me and said she offered to pay our bill. That didn't happen, and we didn't want a free meal, but considering the wrong wine, terrible service , Cold escargot, maybe take off the wine or the escargot? My one star change ( from 2) is when she said "I have gone out of my way to give you exceptional service ". No Kimberly, that the very LEAST you have done . I walked out with my sweet mom who never engages , and my sister paid full price ! After What a disappointment! We made reservations for my mom's 80th birthday. We told them again when seated we were there for my mom's 80th bday. Ordered wine and 25 minutes later, no drinks. We heard our waitress tell new table about specials .. we weren't told! She finally told us, and we ordered. I asked for escargot and French onion soup, with soup first: They both came at same time , and I said it's ok... onion soup needs to cool . My escargot was cold. We sent it back ( with another waiter ) and we never saw our waitress again. My sister got the wrong wine... no one ever came back . No water, no bread , no nothing. No empty dishes taken off our table. We asked 2 people for our bill... low and behold, our waitress finally acknowledged us after we were done and waiting for a good 15minutes. No dessert ever offered ... just the bill... come in to pay inside

My mother and I recently had a delightful meal at Chez Mamou. Delicious food, wonderful service, and a peaceful ambiance on the back patio despite the dumpster fire that is 2020. Our server Kimberly was extremely knowledgeable about the wine list and was kind and attentive. The French onion soup with the port (you HAVE to get the port) was so rich and delicious. My mother had the duck breast and I had the moules frites - both were excellent. To top it off, everything was well priced. Chez Mamou will definitely become part of our regular rotation of Sant Fe restaurants!

Great French food! Very charming. The French Onion soup is terrific, with a 2oz pour of port available on the side to "enhance your soup" halfway through. Really tasty! Thanks for the recommendation Joaquim , your skills as a waiter were truly appreciated. Had the Cordon Bleu chicken. Ample portions and nice fresh vegetables. A chocolate fondant (creamy) and meringue ( light and crispy) dessert and really good coffee for dessert. We sat outdoors, socially distanced and had a great meal. Thanks again Joaquim! We will be back!

We ate lunch here today and it was absolutely fabulous. My husband had the chicken and mushroom crêpe and he swears it's better than any crepe he ever had in Paris. I enjoyed their spinach quiche along with a nice fresh field green saladWe took along some pastries ... the apple pastry and the cherry tart and enjoyed it later on at home whoever bakes for them really knows what he's doing!!! Highly recommend this little French restaurant just off the plaza

We went in just for dessert, my husband & I were greeted by a very friendly waiter who gave us a full run down. We had the lemon tart, raspberry pastry, chocolate pastry, and a cherry pastry. All were delicious- but the favorite was lemon tart! Great coffee as well. The waiter who helped us convinced us that we have to try the place out for breakfast or lunch!

Really enjoyed both their lunch and dinner menus. In the evening their green raviolis were good, as were their tuna salads. They open for breakfast at 7:30 am and their bakery options are good.

My wife and I went to order a pastry for dessert - we were told two different prices for eating in or taking out by the woman behind the counter. We chose to eat in, paid forthe pastry, then as we were walking to our table were told, since we didn’t leave a tip for the pastry, we’re weren’t allowed to eat at the restaurant and had to take it to go. I then asked for a refund, to which I was told I couldn’t get one. We were intending to buy the pastry and eat it at a table without service, but we were told it was only a full service restaurant after purchasing. Extremely unprofessional and will not be returning.

If I haven't written a five star review already... Here it is. They know how to make great food, pastries and cappuccinos. Delight!

We had dessert and coffee. Outdoor seating available which is what drew us. Desserts were great, fresh, local fruits. Waiter very friendly
