Though very clean, the staff is not that great including the life guards, many of which are rude or prejudice. I will say that the Aquatic Director is very helpful and friendly but she can’t represent the entire staff by herself. So I wish I could rate this YMCA based on her alone but I can’t.

This YMCA is terrible and I would assume all YMCA's are like this. The staff is terrible and annoying and gets in the way of doing your actually goal of using the gym. There is always something wrong with whatever stupid system they use to sign people in. The only reason I haven't changed gyms is because this is the closest to my house and the gym equipment is actually good and the people who workout are cool. I know they also treat there staff awfully. Safe to say the YMCA is the most glorified gym in America and I hope I can die seeing them all out of business. If you are a regular gym goer or know anything about common decency you will know this gym is awful. The only thing keeping me from not going to planner fitness has to be my pride.

Hearing the summer camps kids screaming while i workout is fun and enjoyable. They already occupied the whole basketball gym I don’t understand why the have to come up to the lifting area as well.

Too hot upstairs where weights are. Front desk keeps or nice and cool for them in summer and warm for them in winter time. Problem is that there is an open ceiling and heat rises. So people working out have to suffer the heat.

This YMCA is too small to serve such a densely populated area. Be prepared to wait for weight machines. The men's locker room is cramped and has a dingy smell. Membership is too expensive. Staff are welcoming, which is the only reason why this place gets 3 stars.

The place is always packed, especially the gym. The gym is small, and there isn't enough equipment to go around. The locker room is cramped and smells dingy. I expect better amenities for a place that charges $70 monthly. Unfortunately, it's the only gym in the immediate area.

This is a great ymca. Staff is sweet. Crowd is friendly. The machines are well maintained. Everyone who complains about this ymca is a bitch-ass hater. Be grateful for the last great social institution in America

This is a good gym sauna is open steam rooms is open. They have pickleball. They have basketball, and swimming. Good cardio machines, and Squat racks, and I Luke the bench press options and free weights. and also good easy to use app. I just wish they had food here like smoothies or salads or diet dialed meals

The Rockaway YMCA is convenient. It's near public transportation in the middle of the peninsula. It's clean and adequately equipped. Treadmills, elliptical, free weights,

Terrible gym. Hours are terrible. Full of children. Staff are super rude I was there yesterday and one of the children was cleaning/ brushing the floor straight into my face while I was working out. When I said something I was ignored. I already canceled after theee days of being a member. I'd rather drive.

The place is run adequately and employees are friendly enough, especially in a stressful society these days. Machines are repaired in a timely fashion when they break down and I've never had to wait for a treadmill. I guess my only dislike is that some patrons can be a bit inconsiderate by staying on an apparatus just a little too long, but my nature guides me to roll with the punches. Overall, there are enough friendly people to offset any negativity.

Only ONE weight machine of each kind. So you have to wait until whoever is using it completes their workout. And their membership is ridiculously overpriced. Also, for group fitness you have to make a reservation before you go. I don't recommend this place at all.

Sauna is permanently closed, steam room was open for a short time, now it's also closed. Half of the benches in the locker room are missing. No shelves in the shower stalls, if you have your own soap and shampoo you have to hold them in your teeth.

The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in life. I called to explain that I cancelled my membership back in April and was still being charged. The representative not only discussed their personal notes written about me but also transferred me over to the director who was no help.
