I haven't had my hair done in literally 7 years because I was afraid of the pain and also returning back to baby locs when getting a retwist. No only is the website to book a appointment and pricing is professional, clear and easy to digest. When I arrived I felt like I can trust the lady working their with my hair. Not only did I leave, satisfied with my hair. but it was fixed, and my head wasn't in pain at all. By far the best experience I gotten when it comes to my hair. I'm a 4c type hair I am extremely grateful!!!! Can't wait to return again for a check-up

The service was great! I felt really comfortable getting my hair washed. The stylist was a great conversationalist. My only issue was the price change, I asked how much a wash and just a blow out ( no silk press) would be on the phone and was told $67 then got there and it was $88. Besides that the experience was great. If you want the basics I would advise to go somewhere a bit cheaper but if your getting an actual silk press I would advice to book since they are natural hair focused and won’t give you heat damage.

This is my second time at Nubian Hair Studio with Key as my hairstylist. I relax in Key’s chair, because I can feel confident that she is knowledgeable about her craft, cares about my well-being and feelings about the style, and genuinely cares about my hair—and my life. Also, the salon has a welcoming ambiance: from the music, to discussions, to moments of quiet, I always feel good while I’m there and leave feeling satisfied. Thank you, Key, for another wonderful experience! And thank you, Alicia, for your leadership in creating a salon worthy of its reputation.

Fantastic establishment! As a tender-headed person , I decided to do traditional micro locs and I love my decision. It is an expensive decision. However, I am incredibly happy with my investment. I will never have to do blow outs / washes / dryers in the same way. The process is less exhausting and painful. As someone who has come from doing box braids for the last few years, and now is doing micro locs—- this experience has been incredible.
I am working with two+ cosmetologists who are experts in their field and passionate about hair care education.
I would HIGHLY recommend making the switch to micro locs and working with this staff to do so.
The process is exciting and worth the investment if you’re interested in pursuing your locs journey.

My mom and I had such a wonderful experience at the Nubian Hair Studio! We started off with a consultation with Key and told her what type of style we were each looking to do. She was thorough and made sure we understood what the process involved. Key worked on both of us. My mom decided to do a new color and cut to a shorter style. I decided to get crocheted passion twist. Everyone was so friendly and very professional and the owner Alice made us feel at home. I would definitely recommend this place and if I could go beyond five stars I would! They work on all hair types especially natural, and they are skilled in different types of hair styles. Make sure you call ahead to make an appointment because they are in demand but they will try their best to work with you.

Absolutely wonderful experience. In my whole life, I have not been to anyone better than Alicia. I haven't been able to take care of my own hair for a long time due to ongoing health issues, and I went there anticipating to lose all of my hair, so I was expecting to get a big chop, but I didn't have to lose all of my hair thanks to Alicia. She gave me a detox, a protein treatment, and a hydration treatment as well. She also gave me encouragement in dealing with my health issues, and was very accommodating when I informed her of my struggles.
The thing I appreciate the most is that Alicia always takes the time to show me what she is doing, what products she is using in my hair at each step, and explains why she's doing it. Even more, she gave me instructions on how to care for my hair myself at home, and optional products I can get for myself (if I'd like). She's not a product pusher, and she wants to get her clients to a point where they can do regular hair maintenance on their own. She is a masterclass in customer care, and if you really want to get your money's worth, then visit this shop.

I had the most uplifting experience getting my locs installed. These women are beautiful and knowledgeable. I seen so much respect and professionalism. Key was and is my stylist from now until she stops doing hair. I recommend anyone and everyone to get their natural treated here. My new hair home.

This place just felt like home. They know what to do to natural hair and how to promote hair growth, and they were very educational expressing different styles I can do with my natural hair. I'm so glad I found a place that didn't just look at my hair and recommend a perm in my hair. It was just an amazing experience, and I will definitely be going back.
Stylist: My stylist is Ke she is so sweet and fun to talk to. She was letting me know everything she was doing to my hair which I appreciated because it was my first time getting anything done to my natural hair. Her service is top notch professional. Thank you Ke.

I had the most amazing experience ever with the ladies at Nubian. I am starting my loc journey and Mrs. Alice and the ladies have been awesome. Mrs. Alice took her time and explained step by step of everything that she was doing to my hair. Chelsea rocks!! She's the interlock princess. She did her THANG!!

I received AMAZING hair care at Nubian Hair Studio, (for my natural hair) Alice, the Owner and Master stylist, flawlessly executed the hair cut I wanted from a picture. Her expertise in styling and hair care amplified my confidence because I went extremely short?, let me tell you Sisters, Nubian Hair Studio is where you need to go! The Salon is so welcoming, the minute you cross over the threshold into the salon, the atmosphere is so serene, so welcoming, so peaceful, you will feel at home. What an amazing experience. I’ve visited a couple of hair salons in the city, but I’ve never felt so welcomed and comfortable as today. Took the time to explain what was going on with my hair, awesome recommendations, and extremely professional and polite. I’m so happy to have found a curly hair salon in the Bronx. I’ve found my new home! Alice worked wonders on my natural hair! She was very informative on how to manage and keep my hair healthy. Healthy, defined and poppin curls did it for me!!! Highly recommended!!!
