My best friend and I visited Primp and Polish while on vacation in New York, and we were blown away. From the moment we walked in, it felt like a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city—elegant, serene, and so beautifully put together.
I have to start by shouting out Natalie, an incredibly talented nail artist whose work I absolutely love. She’s creative, meticulous, and has an incredible eye for design. You can give her a general theme or idea, and she’ll bring it to life with thoughtful, stunning detail. Every set she creates feels like a work of art. I’m sharing photos of her designs in this review—they speak for themselves!
And a big thank-you to Rachu for the wonderful pedicure. She was so kind, detailed, and made the experience feel luxurious. The pedicure setup is fantastic—from the comfy massage chairs to the overall relaxing atmosphere, it was everything I needed.
We were greeted so warmly and offered wine, tea, coffee, or water right when we arrived. Every detail—from the hospitality to the service—made it feel like a true treat. Highly recommend Primp and Polish, and definitely book with Natalie if you want show-stopping nails!

I’ve been a loyal customer for over a decade, and Lisa is hands down the best nail tech I’ve ever had. Her attention to detail and consistency are unmatched. I always leave feeling happy. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with Mina and Chiew over the years, and they’re both incredibly talented as well.

Really amazing service & atmosphere! I went for a regular pedicure but I thought it was odd they didn’t pick out or address any of the ingrown toe nail.

i got a gel manicure and a pedicure ..Tsering was so kind and treated my hands and feet with a lot of care, i’m a chronic nail biter and my hands are always in bad shape which is embarrassing but she made me look beautiful! very grateful! i was able to get immediate service without booking an appointment on a friday afternoon 10/10 will come back

Amazing experience! Margarita was friendly and she did my nails perfectly! My nails were all chipped and broken and they feel revived! Fabulous staff and salon.

They’re nice but a rough pedicure and cleaning is not up to standard. I almost immediately got an infection and have to be on antibiotics from an urgent care visit within 18 hours.
Edit: while they did respond asking for more details via email (which I sent a few hours after), they’ve not responded.

Visited Primp and Polish for the first time today for a gel removal. I was so impressed by the service! I asked for my old gel mani to be soaked off removal and Lisa (who served me) kindly obliged. She was quick and my nails were in great condition after.
I’ll definitely go back to have my nails painted. Thanks Lisa 💛

This is truly the best manicure I’ve ever had. I chose gel with detailed design and it looked fantastic. I received tons of compliments. I find that a lot of gel tops are slightly uneven at the surface but this looked flawless. They shaped my nails beautifully. Also they used new tools, and their procedures were very hygienic. They also took extra time to make sure all the little details were done well (e.g. cuticles, nail shaping, design details). Higher price than other salons in the area but I definitely got what I paid for.

I’m sorry, this nail tech was really sweet and apologetic but these do not look good. To be fair she tried to redo them but I would have preferred a new nail tech to fix them. The problem is she didn’t file down the nail bed so it was uneven to start. Result is goopy and uneven. I’m sure there’s good nail techs here but after today it seems like a roll of the dice if you’re going for the first time. For an $80 manicure it would’ve been nice to walk out loving them, not the case for me.

Returned after many years recently and can confirm: best pedicure in NYC. Two weeks in and it is flawless - no smudging, no chipping, perfect application around cuticles so as to grow out cleanly. I look forward to returning (from an NYC neighborhood far away from Greenpoint).
