On 8/12/20 I took my car to Van Buren GMC, Garden City Park, NY for repairs. I have previously bought 2 cars there. Should I continue to do so?While waiting in queue, I noticed that most of their greeter staff had on face masks as they interacted with customers. The greeter who took my car was NOT wearing a face mask as required by the dealership, when he took my information and drove my car away. I calmly and respectfully informed his supervisor who BLEW ME OFF! Once the work was performed, a second greeter returned the car to me, and also was NOT wearing a face mask as he exited my car! I DISINFECTED my car on their lot AFTER the work was done.Van Buren’s repair staff (who may either drive or make repairs inside our cars’) could be placing customers at risk, who have been carefully practicing proper personal protection during this COVID-19 pandemic. I transport AT-RISK people in my car. My experience at Van Buren could have been the Achilles' heel despite all of my previous efforts.I have more than 40 YEARS of disinfecting experience (military and civilian trained in nuclear, biological and chemical defense [NBCD] and suggest that Van Buren employees should wear a face mask or covering, especially when driving customers cars that are brought in for repair.Dissatisfied!

Excellent customer service, however don't waste your time. I had to edit the stars. I utilized my warranty,and it took two days. To have nothing done. And spent over $200. The joke is I had to call and get a rep on the job. Which I don't get paid for. Then once they find out I'm covered. It's a whole other part added that I'm not cover for ??? Go through pepboys it's much cheaper & you'll get the job done. Or any place else not this dealership. Very people But that doesn't get the job done .

The worst experience I've ever had buying a truck from Paul Bianco. He made promises that were never filled like telling me I'm getting 1500 bucks credit for tool cabinets installed in the bed. He never came through even after several calls. He even became nasty about it after everything was signed and said and done of course. This was going back a few years but now it's time to get another truck. I love GMC but unfortunately for Van Buren and that liar Paul Bianco I'll be going to another dealership unless someone else there can help me without lying and making empty promises just to get my signature

I had a hard time today at Van Buren GMC. I needed service, I needed to leave the vehicle, and take a loner or a rental. I called the day before to go over the details of the loner or rental, left a message but no one returned my call. The next day I brought the car in, they said I could get a rental to go home with. They needed a driver license, credit card, and proof of insurance. The insurance card that I had was not current, and my insurance broker wasn't open at 7:30 AM so I had no way to get proof. Initially they said to just fax it over soon, then they changed their mind and said that they needed immediate proof of insurance before I could leave. Always, when I rent I'm covered with my AMEX card, or sign a waiver and I'm good. This wasn't OK with them. At that point I was out of time and had to leave with my unrepaired vehicle. No service at Van Buren- I called a Chevy Dealer to do my service. Next time I'll buy a Chevy

Service appointment for a recall and oil change. Took about 1 1/2 hours and decided to wait it out in the customer lounge. Coffee, snacks and wifi to get some work done. Good experience and look for specials on oil changes.

One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made was brought my Acadia to here to fix the check engine light and I listened to them. During 2 months they found many issues and charged me over $4K to fix them all, but went back and forth the engine light still came back on. Then finally the service person told me it was a computer issue and they could not fix, suggested me to get a new car from them. I sold the Acadia for $4K right away without checking other GM dealers, but did not go back to them since then, even though I am a long time GM customer with their credit card and reward points. I may go somewhere else one day and buy another GM vehicle but not from this dealership. Lesson learned!

I would like to review this location as I feel that it needs to be said. As soon as I walked into this location it was not welcoming at all. The representative took one look at myself and my mother and immediately I could tell that he was not going to be receptive to us. I came in to look into purchasing a car and was ignored and shut out. I felt that it was race-related as in RACISM and intentional. I usually don't like to place bad reviews but I feel that this warranted!! If anyone tells you that Racism is not an issue, then do not go to this establishment if you are a person of color, I felt embarrassed and totally upset at the level of disrespect. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS PLACE!!

Update: gave them another chance and they caused more damage. in 2019 Van Buren had my car for 6 months. Van Buren failed to fix all the damages they caused, they did however cause new damage. Apparently the car went on a 2,000 mile “test drive”. They hid the the fact the tire was punctured and ILLEGALLY plugged, and were fine with me driving it. The suggested my wife did it. The owners refuse to deal with this personally, and hand it off to others.

Joe was great, he listened paid attention to what I wanted. He let me test drive 2 different models and explained both to me. There was no pressure, he didn’t keep me for hours on end unlike Toyota and Honda and waste my time. Very happy with GMC experience.

Very rude service department. They kept my car for 3 days just to do the oil change and tire rotations even though I had a appointment. Once they take your car, there is nothing you can do, all they keep saying is " we apologize for the delay" and in the mean time made me rent a car for 3 days intstead of giving me a loaner. They really make you wait a very long time for simple services. I really had a bad experiance twice, they never have anything in stock which caused the delay for days or they might have a setup with rental car compay for a kickback

The worst service experience of my life. Over 22 days they have my truck as it was brought back twice for massive engine issues that cause the truck to almost stop. They couldn’t fix it the first time as the same issue re appeared 3 miles from the dealership, after a guarantee it was safe and fixed . They put a new sensor in and NOW won’t guarantee it will work or is safe, so I don’t have the truck back. Guess what the plan is? Nobody knows and nobody calls.

I recently purchased a 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Denali (Diesel) from Van Buren GMC. The experience was as smooth and straight forward as you could hope. They had better supply than any metro area GMC dealer and my sales person Joe Fusco was so easy to work with. They were competitive with the price and didn't try to upsell needless add-ons. Joe knew the trucks inside and out which made for a speedy transaction. I saw the truck on Thursday, picked a color that night and took delivery the next day. I've never had such pleasurable vehicle purchasing experience. It was worth the drive from Westchester to purchase from Van Buren.
