Not a single friendly face. As someone who even has worked at ulta previously, I understand the rush sometimes in the stores, but every associate would walk past avoiding answering customer questions. I went to have my son use the restroom, there was a sign only in the women’s bathroom so I waved down an associate walking past and asked if the other bathroom is locked, or if someone was in there and her response was “it’s out of order” and turned around and kept walking, I asked if it was both bathrooms or just the women’s bathroom ? And she completely disregarded my question and just walked away. I think the biggest issue I had, which is what is prompting me to leave this review is that I was helping my sister find a shade of Benetint since the benefit girl was also paying no mind. I went to grab a clean applicator to test out the shades for her when the cover of the applicators was slammed onto my hand and the benefit associate just said “don’t touch that!” And turned around and didn’t acknowledge me again. I’ve never experienced that, even working at ulta. She was so rude and it did not have to be that way and truthfully is the main reason we did not purchase from her boutique.

Barely anyone around to help you so you’re left spending time looking for things on your own. Yet you have security hovering over you and making you feel uncomfortable bc you’re spending that much time in a store looking for a damn color match

Dude they’re missing all the good brands that have been around for ages like nars, dior, mac, etc, or items in there, they don’t even get the new stuff often, even brands like hourglass don’t have a full on display and limited products, disappointing honestly.

Have usually had positive experiences here, but not this weekend. This weekend I was accused of lying and refused an advertised sales price by one of the rudest employees I have some across. This, of course, goes against NYC gov rules on advertised sales prices.I noticed the displayed 30% off discount did not come off when checking out my items. I had also heard the sake advertised over the loudspeaker for the exact brand whose products I was purchasing. I asked the cashier about it and she said the sale had ended yesterday. I said that the sale price was still up and I heard an announcement made over the loudspeaker, at which point she looked over at her supervisor who came over and promptly and curtly said that they would not honor the price. I told her I heard an announcement made over the loudspeaker and she said that no such announcement had been made on that day. Not sure how she thinks I would know that such an announcement was being made if I had not heard it with my own ears. I told her that, yes it was made, and she once again insisted that I didn’t hear it because it wasn’t announced which was a total lie on her behalf. I, once again, said the sale price is still on the shelf and she said it says the sale ended yesterday (I did not see that, as all I saw was the 30% on the sign). I asked why they would leave a sign up that says 30% off if it’s no longer on sale and and all she said was that she would not honor the price. This employee was rude off the bat, came over with a sour face on immediately. If she har at least acknowledged that the sales price shouldn’t be up there anymore and hadn’t accused me of lying about what I heard over the loudspeaker, I might have just let this one go. However, none of your customers deserve to be treated in such a manner while trying to make purchases at your store. Maybe you have a way of listening to the recordings made throughout the day- go ahead and play it and you’ll see that the sale announcement was played on Sunday 11/5. I did call customer service and spoke to a lovely person there. However, still no callback from a supervisor.

A lot was out of stock at this particular location and almost all of the fragrances’ testers were gone, maybe stolen?The staff was not as helpful as other Ulta’s that I’ve been to in the city. I will be taking the trek to Brooklyn for better service.

Their pickup policy is ridiculous!Added my son as the pickup person, he had no ID so they didn’t allow him to pick up; no problem. I then go the next day (with my ID) and the order wouldn’t be released to me because I’m not the pickup person listed on email.BUT THE ACCOUNT, EMAIL & CARD USED FOR PURCHASE ARE UNDER MY NAME. I gladly had them cancel the order.. I’ll stick to Sephora.

I have been a big fan of this ulta ever since their opening. The staff has always been super helpful and kind and I've had no problems with getting makeup or a shade match. I would give far more stars if it wasnt for being followed and singled out as a gay person there.The security there have been descriminatory lately in who theyre watching. I'm a gay man, and there's one guard in particular that follows me around the store even when I'm on line buying products already. He's standing nearby me at almost all times, instead of waiting by 16 year Olds in the prestige makeup areas like hourglass and lancome. Profiling gay men isn't a great way to do business and someone needs to talk to him. This isn't the first time, but today might be my last time there unless someone talks to him. Prior folks working security have been great, with one woman being really friendly a while back (last I saw her was the first release of the hydromaniac foundation a few years ago) but this guy is clearly profiling gay customer.

I received old used products! After paying full price for products that weren’t even on sale, I went all the way to pick it up at the store in 80th street which is pretty far from my place. But on reaching home I open the package and voila I get 2 old products which look like testers! No seal packaging, and looks used. They say we can get it exchanged but what abt the time and travel expense? Who’s gonna pay for that?! Totally disappointing

Huge & immaculate makeup & perfume emporium. Amazing product selection - ez to see goods & test them. Security Guard provides visible safety when browsing or shopping. Wonderful well run store!!!!

My recent visit to ULTA left me with mixed feelings, primarily due to the unfriendly nature of the staff. While ULTA is known for its wide range of beauty products, the lack of friendly customer service greatly impacted my overall experience.Unfortunately, the staff at ULTA did not display a welcoming or helpful attitude. They seemed disinterested and were not readily available to assist customers. This lack of friendliness made it difficult to feel comfortable while browsing or seeking assistance.
