I've been doing business at Reliant for over 30 years, back when they were still called WCTA, mostly at the Newark and Macedon branches. I've always found them to be friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. Over hundreds of visits, I can't recall ever having a negative experience.

Will be closing my account and moving my loan to another local bank after many years of being a long term customer. I was called by Reliant before Christmas to inform me I had a negative balance due from a Paypal charge on my checking acct (which I haven’t used my checking acct in many, many years). I let the Rep know that I didn’t charge anything to Reliant as I don’t use the checking acct. I’ve been a long term account holder that does most of my vehicle/personal/home improvement loans through this bank. Rep told me I owed $34.xx which included an over draft fee and the Paypal charge. Over Christmas I found my Paypal account was hacked due to my identity being stolen. I called Reliant to let them know the charge was fraudulent and ask the exact amount I owed so I could go to a branch and pay it. I was told I now owe $200.xx for mostly over draft fee’s!!!! I asked that the over draft fees be waived as I had told the first Rep that I hadn’t made any charges to Reliant and the Rep said I only owed $34.xx a week and a half earlier. I also advised my identity had been stolen and as a result my paypal account had been hacked. I was told they’d have to submit a form request to branch where my account was opened approx 35 years ago and that they would email me the adjusted amount the next day! Really? This sounds like a process from 1970! Never got an email from them. In meantime I had Paypal remove my bank accounts and changed my password so no further fraudulent transactions could be made. Received a call from Rep over a week later and was told I now owe $181.xx as they could not remove all of the over draft fees as this WAS NOT RELIANT’s FAULT!!!??? SERIOUSLY???? The last time I checked, Identity theft isn’t really the fault of either party…bank or customer but most all banks today know how to take care of their customers when identity theft occurs. NOT RELIANT apparently! I know ESL, Tompkins and Canandaigua National Bank all call me when they think there is a possible fraudulent transaction and would NOT hesitate to waive fee’s in a situation concerning identity theft!! After speaking with Reliant Reps 4 times advising all of them that I didn’t make any charges out of my Reliant checking account, which remember hadn’t been used in many years, I was treated as if I were the fraudulent party! What TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! ATTENTION RELIANT CUSTOMERS - Seriously consider changing banks to a bank who has UPDATED fraud and identity theft procedures in place and who is proactive for YOU THE CUSTOMER…you’re NOT going to get that OR be PROTECTED from/by Reliant!

I found them to be very bias, i am a single independent minded MALE which apparently makes them feel uncomfortable. yesterday they refused me service. I went back the same day with my daughter and they apologized but offered no way of making it right. All i asked for was a notary for a health care proxy. The answer i received was "i can't." This happened on October-06-2021, at Reliant FCU in Newark, New York

I switched to Reliant about 2 years ago when they gave me a great auto loan. The people working at this location are always so friendly and very helpful. In the 2 years I've never had any issues or complaints about them.

I had $250 in a savings account and they charged me $10 a month. All of it was wiped out. I was not aware that a savings account would cost me $10 a month for inactivity. I called customer service and that was their policy. Now my savings is down to $23.89.

Do not bank with these people. They'll take money out of your account without your permission and do with it as they please. They are worse than loan sharks.

Poor bank all they want to do to make life difficult for you charging you for everything and when you file a complaint watch out they have no mercy on you will do everything to make your life bad. WATCH OUT

I would've given them a 5 star rating but they allow one person to have 3 transactions at the window which makes me late if I'm behind them. It should be one transaction per car.

Members are treated as just a number. 20+ years I have been with wcta, now reliant. As the change over and the down hill of the company continued since it's conversion to reliant so has my use for this facility. Over a $41 negative balance, I get threats and account disabled so when I was able to get to one of the few affiliated branches out of state to put money in to correct this, they are unable to make deposit to fix issue. When l spoke to rep, I said I would try to get there that day, as my busy schedule turned out, I wasn't able to till the next day. So because of one day, they made it so I had to waste more time to give them the money they were demanding yet made it so I could not give it to them. As someone who travels across the country. It does make it hard to bank, which is why I kept this account, but will be looking for a better place that actually values it's members.

The staff is mostly friendly and helpful. Once in a while you get a teller that's kinda rude, but that's most banks (or credit unions) in my experience. They only have one teller window at drive thru, and 2 ATMs. The lot entrance is also the exit so there are sometimes close calls with other vehicles.

I have been with Reliant since it was WCTA. Its a Credit Union, so they don't rip you off like a Bank.
