Not happy as we booked a 1pm appointment on a Sunday. Around 12:31 we arrived on the area and found out a couple was also waiting to accommodate their noon appointment. Had a stroll on walmart instead and came back around 1:05pm thinking that the first couple would still be with the JH staff only to find out no one is in the desk again. Will try again on a weekday and hope we'll have a better experience. Until then, I'm sticking with this one star.

I want to make a distinction between Jackson Hewitt & Laura, the tax specialist I saw in Oneonta: Jackson Hewitt is RIDICULOUSLY PRICED and their business model shows questionable ethics when it comes to pricing and transparency. That being said, Laura, who prepared my somewhat complicated taxes was very professional, accommodating, and friendly. I wish she would quit Jackson Hewitt & start her own tax prep company because she has a conscience and would not charge an arm and a leg to file your taxes - IF SHE DID FEEL LIKE CHARGING THAT MUCH she would at the very least be up front about it so you could make an informed decision about using her service or not.The 5 stars are specifically for Laura, but I will never use Jackson Hewitt again.
