Last week the muffler on my son's car broke. He was able to do a temp fix so he could drive it long enough to find a shop to replace it. He was able to get 2 estimates that averaged $1,350 before the muffler fell off Thursday night. The car was basically un-drivable at that point and my son became ill on Friday so I offered to arrange for the repair. He needed to get it repaired over the weekend so he could get to work on Monday. I called a competitor of Monroe Muffler in Oneonta, NY because the competitor had .5 more stars on Yelp. The competitor told me they would call me back with the estimate. They did not call so I called them back Friday night and they told me they were too busy to give me a quote and they are closing for the weekend. The best they could do it maybe give me a quote on Monday. So here we are with nobody to look at it until next week. That is when I realized Monroe Muffler was open on the weekend and I was able to make an online appointment for 8am Saturday morning (next day). Long story short (I know it's already too late for that), the car was fixed by 11am and the total cost was under $700 or about half of what the other estimates were. This experience has really changed my mind about Monroe Muffler. Thanks to Monroe Muffler for being open on the weekends when real people have the time to deal with stuff like this and thanks to Matt and the others at Oneonta, NY for being so prompt and professional.

I suggested a 1/2 star but it wasn’t available.I had darrius @ Monroe do some work on my vehicle and I wasn’t informed that he wasn’t allowed to work on anything-only oil changes-He takes jobs in “off the books” and doesn’t know what he’s doing. No repair order was written as well. I had a simple sway bar end link replaced and the kid burnt &ruined the aftermarket strut on my vehicle. I have video of kid working in vehicle.Brought it up to his manager and he replaced the suspension free of charge and ruined my ball joints in the process. It’s ashamed that the manager has to “shoulder this kid’s mistake”.Not one regional manager had the heart to call me so a complaint was filed with state agencies to address this mistake. Mechanical liability insurance is purchased to reimburse the customer when this sort of things happen. Local attorney is going to draft a letter on my behalf and I suggest others to follow suit when this happens to them. I don’t recommend this kid doing anything on anyones vehicle ; as ruining people vehicle’s to achieve his “goals” isn’t a place where I want to do business with. Forget about email - the door doesn’t have proper contact information. Regional office doesn’t have a working email as well. Hopes this helps other who’s faced with same or similar circumstances at this location.

We were in town for a weekend. These guys were the only place open on Sunday, were able to get us in, diagnose the issue and get us back on the road. House help!

I went in to get a noisy wheel bearing checked. After inspection, I was told it was not my bearing but "chopped" tires. Ok, whatever. I asked them to look at the bearings, and they assured me the noise I was hearing was simply tire noise from the worn tires. After the purchase of 2 new tires, the noise still was there. I went somewhere else, and sure enough, it was a bad wheel bearing. UGH. While the mechanics were friendly, and somewhat knowledgeable, they totally BLEW IT with my car. Not happy at all. Doubt I will go back there again for anything major. I did not go to my regular mechanic, as I wanted to get the wheel bearing fixed post haste, as I had been hearing the noise for a few days prior to getting it checked out. I feel totally ripped off, and am at best disgusted with the failure to actually LOOK AT the bearings as I requested they do.

Had an appointment at 9am for 4 new tires, which were prepaid . Dropped truck off at 8:50am and was told it would be about an hour. Went back at 10:30 and truck hadn't been touched. Was told they would call when finished. I called them at 1:40pm and was told the truck was about to be pulled in. I reminded him that our appointment was for 9am. He said, "we got busy, sorry". After no call at 3pm, we drove back to Oneonta and found the truck still didn't have new tires on it due to their lift not being able to lift the truck! Nice Saturday.

We were visiting NY for a baseball tournament and got a screw in our tire. The closest tire shops were about 20 miles away in Oneonta. Monro’s happened to still be open, so we drove there to get them to patch it. They were getting ready to close but took our car in, patched the tire (for $25.92!), and had us back out the door in less than 30 minutes. They even recommended a great place to eat in Oneonta. We were very impressed!

These people are SO NICE!I have been coming here for 3.5 years (started with seasonal tire exchange; they have also done some replacements and repairs and inspection). They are SUPER helpful and accommodating; one of the staff members advised me extensively (for free) on certain parts that it would be more efficient to buy online.EVERYONE is easy to communicate with, candid, friendly and it is hard to believe that one can almost look forward to a visit with a "tire place".highly recommend!!!

The service here has been routinely awesome for me. They are available on Sat and Sun (I can’t take weekdays off). The one time I had a problem after they changed my tires for me, they got me in immediately and fixed it gratis. Darius and the rest of the team are excellent.

This place is an absolute joke. I dropped my car off on a Saturday afternoon for the first appointment Sunday morning. I didn't hear anything so proceeded to call Sunday afternoon where I was told they don't have my car. Thinking I had the wrong location I checked my call log to determine this was the place and called back where the gentleman that answered the phone proceeded to look out the window this time for my car. It was there in the lot. He said it was being pulled in and will get back to me. I called back 3 hours later because they did not contact me and was told they won't be working on it until the following day. Told him never mind, due to the unprofessionalism the lack of communication I was not able to get there before closing. The gentleman said he would leave my keys for me to pick up that evening. When I went to retrieve my vehicle there were no keys and my vehicle was unlocked in the parking lot. I will never use this Monro auto service and will share this experience to anyone that will listen.

I dropped my car off at 9am for an oil change, tire change and rear brakes. They charged me $159 just for brake pads and told me corporate policy they can’t install the ones I bought, $269 total for brake service. $477 total for all the services because they tacked on several extra services that I did not ask for. I’ve gone to these guys a few times now and have never been this upset

These guys are great. They've always done good work for me. Always have given me reasonable prices. They have hours on weekends. They're easy to deal with. Today I got a flat tire. Called them from the side of the road while I was working on getting the donut on. Got me right in as I pulled in 20 minutes later. Was in and out in 45 minutes with my car good to go. Saved my bacon today. Thanks again guys.

I waited over two hours for brakes that I need to pass inspection and an oil change. They over charge and I’m still waiting for my car back. The inspector was not onsite till 30 minutes after the start of my appointment. They told a lady that had her light clear to drive the mileage first and come back. It was supposed to be an inspection.lucky I watched the nurse call out the shop and will have to make things right! They pulled another car in worked on that one and billed me the time. I watched them bill me time as they text on there cell phones. Yea save your money. I will not be a reoccurring customer here. Oh and apparently we can’t even clean off the old sticker to put the new one on..

Friendly service done in a timely manner with a schedule that can fit your needs. Sometimes there's a wait due to the workload or any technical situations but overall a good place for regular car maintenance items (oil change, serpentine belt change, brake pads etc).
