Worst ever turned in my taxes get it back last minute saying they can't do it. Now I'll have late fees and everything. Do not use horrible company. This is all because I did not pay them for bookkeeping. This is the business they do.

This was the first and last time I will go to this office for tax preparation. When I went to this office I shad specific questions about the standard NYS tax computation table which the Mr. Ahern was unfamiliar with and did not seem to have any interest in familiarizing himself with it to answer my question at that time OR upon my return to retrieve my tax returns. He stated he just inputs the information into their software and the program automatically generates what it needs to which should have been my first warning.I hesitated to leave my taxes but did and upon when I went to pick up my taxes I was handed a folder with tax documents in it, paid the bill and was on my way with no review of the contents of the folder by Mr. Ahern or the account who prepared my return. Only when I insisted on receiving answers about the standard NYS tax computation table did Mr. Ahern take me into his office and pull up the worksheet that the program generated, but he was still unable to answer questions about how the taxes were computed. When I got home I took the time to look at my documents and there was an estimated tax payment worksheet which I've never seen in all the years I've filed income taxes. When I went back to Mr. Ahern's office to ask about this I was told by the tax preparer that she explain to me why this generated this year but it was based on some "magic number" and perhaps Mr. Ahern could answer that but she could not. I also noticed that rather than taking the time to call and ask if I'd like our refund by automatic deposit, their office took it upon themselves to indicate "check" so now we can sit and wait for months for our refund to come because they were too lazy and didn't care enough to pick up the phone and contact me.I left a detailed voice mail for Mr. Ahern asking to speak with him about the issues I experienced with their office as well as to inquire about refiling our taxes so we could get automatic deposit of our refund. Needless to say, I never received a call BUT did get a letter letting me know THEY were parting ways with ME which is laughable since I CLEARLY had no intention of EVER returning to their office.Save your money and buy tax software because that's all they do and they clearly have no real accounting knowledge. They should be embarrassed.

My second year with this business and there was confusion so I asked questions. I felt like something was missing on my tax returns to get me the best possible outcome. When I went back I questioned them again based on information I read off of the IRS website and some other information I was told to ask about. The way I was spoken to for "questioning their ability to do their jobs" was quite frankly appalling. That is not how you speak to clients let alone fairly new clients. I have the right to ask about my money. They very rudely told me to seek out another business to do my taxes because they do not have time to be questioned. i refrained myself from going off. I would not recommend this company to do your taxes especially if you have a complicated return. I will gladly take my business elsewhere and I would suggest you do the same. No client should be spoken to in the manner that I was especially for questioning certain aspects of a tax return. This could have all been avoided if they could have given me a clear answer on my questions instead of repeating the same thing over and over which had nothing to do with my actual question. Again I would NOT recommend this company due to the completely unprofessional way they spoke to me and treated me all for questioning them.

I recently called Paul Ahern for tax help with one of my employee's. Paul had been assisting one of my employees with his taxes for the last several years and as of this tax season there was some sort of difference of opinion between Paul and my employee about billing or tax preparation. In an effort to help determine what the problem was I called Paul to try and see if there was any way I could help with the situation. The assistant picked up and was kind enough to connect me with Paul. I introduced myself and asked a couple questions to see if I could help and the phone cut out. Shortly thereafter I called back, was reconnected to Paul. Paul yelled a couple random things in the phone and hung up on me a second time before I could get a word in edge-wise. I tried back a third time, giving Paul the benefit of the doubt with the hopes of getting a chance to have a basic discussion for 2 minutes and see what is going on. Paul picks up the phone directly and immediately yells at me telling me it's tax season, I am wasting his time and he is busy doing taxes, etc. I have no experience working with Paul prior to this day and I can guarantee he will not get a recommendation from me anytime soon. I hope this is just one bad day for Paul but I see nothing Professional about the way I was addressed by Paul at the Tax Professionals.
