Il Mulino not only excels in delivering unparalleled Italian cuisine but also orchestrates an immersive dining experience where the music is a pivotal player in setting the perfect vibes. A culinary journey worth savoring, both in taste and melody.
Gather your friends and family for an unforgettable evening at Il Mulino New York - Long Island. Nestled in the vibrant North Shore, indulge in a delightful night where every bite is a celebration of flavors and every moment is cherished. Experience the finest ingredients and unforgettable flavors of Manhattan at our Long Island outpost.
With outposts in Miami and Las Vegas among others, brothers Gino and Fernando Masci, originally from the Abruzzo region of Italy, replicated the original 1982 décor of Il Mulino's Greenwich Village location here: plush carpeting, wrought iron chandeliers and tapestries for an old-world ambience sprinkled with a dose of the American dream. As guests are seated, waiters in formalwear will quickly approach the table offering typical Italian appetizers: tangy tomato bruschetta, slivers of fine Parmigiano-Reggiano, soggy fried zucchini, salame and even an insipid mussel. But the action heats up with the recitation of the daily specials and specialità della casa. Start with a simple caprese salad when tomatoes are in season, or test the thinly sliced carpaccios --- tuna and beef are both on offer. Pasta choices range from fresh spaghettini alla carbonara to meat-filled tortellini with cream and peas. The restaurant's specialty is cappellini with a pancetta, wild mushroom and truffle cream sauce. Veal is highlighted among main courses: skip the saltimbocca, which is less than extraordinary, in favor of the osso buco. There are also several dishes with free-range chicken, including a simple piccata with lemon and butter. An Italian-focused wine list has regional options. A dessert sampler plate allows for myriad small tastes, including the house tiramisu.
