My husband needed a jacket altered and new pants for an important meeting. Joe the tailor abruptly said the 3 jackets we brought were hopeless and, worse, that no new jackets could be altered to fit either my husband's right shoulder, slightly raised after hip surgery. We were shocked. Then we heard Joe insult a second man who asked his advice on a new suit. We were desperate, so I tried to charm Joe into helping us. Finally, he said just wear the old navy blazer with new gray pants. So we bought Peter Millar slacks that Joe marked for tailoring. When we picked them up today, while the pants, hand-picked by Joe, had been hemmed, they seemed not to have been altered and were still baggy on each side. When we asked Joe to fix the sides, he became angry, disdainful and abruptly left the fitting room. This is Nordstrom's famous customer service?Service: Men's clothing alterations

Tailors here have a very imperialistic attitude. They bend over backwards fit white customers and act offended when approached by black customers

I can't believe it but I was not impressed. I had a couple things in mind to buy but all they had was this hideous hippy high waisted trash and I didn't find one useful or even worthwhile to try on. Miserably disappointed.. and I walked out disappointed and empty handed I had just got some more money and nothing here was even worth it. They also did not have the shoes or sunglasses I wanted. Wasn't worth it.

Nordstrom is supposed to be a high end store in the same realm as Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales for example and as such with the amount of money spent in this store there should be a higher level of professionalism and customer courtesy than say you would get in Walmart, especially when giving people positions of authority I drove all the way from New Jersey to this Nordstrom to purchase $1000 pair of shoes along with other shoes that I decided to allow the young man to have shipped to me instead of ordering online so that he could receive a commission and to return a pair that was just purchased 2 days prior and were never worn the alleged stand in Assistant Manager named Luis Raggio refused the return stating they were worn when they clearly were not but that was not even the point of the matter the issue was Luis was was super nasty and has no customer service skills whatsoever and definitely needs some retraining on how to deal with customers I have been a Nordstrom's customer for over 10 years and I am actually on first name basis with several of the employees in the location at Garden State Plaza I have never in my whole shopping experiences including shopping at the discounted store on the rack been spoken to in this manner or addressed in this manner he initially was being nasty to my friend who was speaking to him first and when I saw the situation escalating I actually tried to diffuse the situation and he was still being nasty to me he would not let me finish a sentence and was cutting me off even though I never raised my voice towards him, I never used a curse word towards him I actually asked him why was he being so rude and I stated to him I an a nurse so I know he should have a level of patience and professionalism when talking to people and I told him that I was actually trying to diffuse the matter and when I asked if there was anyone else we could speak to he stated he was the manager for the whole store for the day which I found to be odd. I immediately contacted Nordstrom online and I have emailed his manager along with the regional manager and hopefully something will be done because his behavior is inexcusable and upon reading your reviews it seems like this is going notion at this Nordstrom location and FYI I still allowed the young gentlemen that was originally helping me order my shoes and receive the commission because I felt bad for him

This was a nightmare. I arrived for my 4:30 appointment and was directed to a room to change. After changing I was told to go up two floors to the dress department. After walking up two floors in my bridesmaids dress I was told I didn't have an appointment, which I pulled up to verify. The woman on duty was extremely rude and haste. She rushed my fitting only for the actual tailor to arrive later with another woman and tell me to leave. Two pins were placed in my dress. Two. Somehow, this is sufficient for them to finish the job. I am not confident that this job will be completed properly and truly wish I brought it elsewhere.

I bought a $2,220 bag with my boyfriend at this Nordstrom store and the lady and had such a mean face on and was rushing me and asking me if I was done as if I can make a decision in 5 minutes she looked like she dint want to be there had a attitude I asked her if she was upset and she told me she's tired no excuse I work in retail and give the best service I can and never treat customers that spend so much money the way she did she gave me a attitude the whole time while her and her coworker just kept staring I feel so disgusted she should be fired and for the guy who works in the booth for parking he was like 70 something telling my boyfriend he was lazy because he couldn't fit the card and totally kept insulting me and that's when I had enough and said this is your job and he couldn't reach and mind you my boyfriend is very respectful I felt so horrible here do not shop here it wasn't worth a hour ride to get insulted by people that hate there job. I should be treated kindly when I'm spending so much money never again !

The lingerie department at Nordstom's has an outstanding manager, Leeann Roberts, who assisted me in returning some items and properly fitting me for new items. Her service was performed in an effortless manner and recommend that department highly.

Review is primarily for their telephone customer service department, but I frequent this store and they have a small part to play in my negative experience. A few months ago I was the victim of identity theft. Someone attempted to make $1000 purchase using one of my credit cards, unrelated to Nordstrom, but ordered new cards for all my accounts as a precaution. I received the replacement Nordstrom card and took note that the expiration date was the same as the replaced card which was only a few months away... that's odd. A month later, tried to make a purchase on the site, told that my security code was wrong, ended up locking myself out of my online account. Called CS to find out what the deal was. Come to find out that Nordstrom realized the expiration on my new card was the same as my replaced card & took the initiative to send me a replacement without ever notifying me! I never received that replacement card. Having been through a recent identity theft situation, having a new card out there without me expecting and being on the lookout for it, is not an ideal situation, especially since I never received that card. I was not a happy customer. In fact, I was livid. Had I not called that day I wouldn't have even known about this replacement card, that is who knows where. Then to top it all off, the woman who VERIFIED MY PERSONAL CONTACT INFO when I called,including my name, birthday, and address, spelled my name completely wrong on the shipping info, which resulted in USPS "losing" my package. This whole ordeal was over a month ago. I went to make a new order online yesterday only to find out that I'm still locked out of my account that should have been unlocked during one of my last three calls to Nordstrom about this whole issue. I'm at a loss for words at the complete ineptitude of their website and Nordstrom credit card customer service departments. My Nordstrom Visa is one of my oldest credit card accounts and I've been a customer at this location for more than ten years. Lately, I'm usually told one thing in their store, another thing over the phone, all of which completely contradicts the actual occurrence of events. It's very disappointing and makes me want to take a hiatus from shopping at Nordstrom. Maybe during that absence they'll get their act together.

I must say, in this day and age of Amazon Prime, Nordstrom is falling far behind in e-commerce. Purchase orders take far too long to receive and returns are nothing short of a nightmare. Avoid on line shopping and sell all common stock (JWN) that may be in your portfolio. They have a great historical reputation but are clearly falling asleep at the wheel. Sorry!!

I like Nordstrom's, just not this particular location, every time I find myself needing to go into the store I dread it, no one greets you, no one asks if you need help. That would all be fine if the workers looked the least bit inviting but they don't. They all look like they don't want to be there and they look at you like why are you there. Put such a bad taste in my mouth I just left. This holds especially true in the TOPSHOP section. I question why I continue to go in there each time I'm there.

It's becoming harder and harder to find a department store where you can get great customer service and excellent quality in the merchandise you buy. That's not the case when you shop at Nordstrom's! Every time I go to Nordstrom's at The Westchester, I'm always astonished by the professionalism of their dedicated staff and the way I feel while trying on clothes and even when I'm home and reflecting on my experiences. This evening I headed over to buy some slacks and dress shirts and worked with a wonderfully caring salesman, Eli, who went out of his way to make my shopping experience so pleasing, that I only wanted to buy more clothes to increase his commission! He urged me to save my money and come back when Nordstrom's has their after Christmas sales!

My clothing trips are few and far between, thankfully, as I hate shopping. I also have some sizing challenges, including shoes and jackets. Most stores don't stock men's size 7 dress shoes, and 38 short jackets are in short supply (no pun intended). Nordstrom handles both. The kicker is the phone call - Nordstrom security calls (not AMEX, as usual) to say someone tried to use my card fraudulently. "How did you know",I asked. "They tried to buy size 9 shoes". Who's better than that!
