This gym is the worst! I use to love being part of this gym. The woodmere location lacks management and customer services. The steam room was always broken and the ladies room was always dirty!I had tried to contact a manager when I was pregnant due to high risk I had to freeze my membership but no one ever got back to me sometimes I called four times a day and no one was ever available. After my pregnancy I was still sick so I called in and again I got the same runaround there were no managers and no one can help me once Covid hit and I realize the gym was closed they weren't supposed to charge full price they started charging me full price and then they charge me a maintenance fee while the gym was closed. I spoke to someone and he said my membership was canceled as of April. But to my surprise again they charged me for April membership. Finally this place got their s*** together and my membership was canceled. Today looking at my bank statement they went ahead and they charged me membership dues again. This place is one of the worst gyms there is all the way from corporate that does nothing to this place in Woodmere. That's not even the worst of it they did the same to my best Friend where instead of charging her card they went ahead without permission and charged her husbands credit card. These people are low lives they'll do anything to get their gym up and running and have it funded meanwhile not care about their members. They invade the privacy by running credit cards that they're not supposed to.Please do not join this club!!! I'd rather go back to Equinox and even Blink or Crunch versus come back to a club like New York sports club they have changed through the years not for the better or worse.

Nice and fully equipped place ideal for a hardcore training. :) I spent only a week there but enjoyed every moment. Last but not least, people were so friendly and helpful as well.

I was forced to cancel my membership due to being bullied in the weight room (after bringing it up to management a few times and no change). That’s when I learned my $19.99 a month membership was really being charged $46.95!! I canceled my membership with the front desk and to make matters worse they keep charging me! I stopped in a few times and called many times to speak to Casandra, the manager, but she’s never available and never calls me back. This gym is a scam! Stay away!

I tell everyone to NOT GO TO THE NYSC, ESPECIALLY IN WOODMERE. go to retro fitness in hewlett or planet fitness in Cedarhurst. I have been going to this gym on and off since I entered college in 2014. I have always had a good experience with this gym in regards to staff, cleanliness, etc. HOWEVER, After the HORRENDOUS treatment and FRUSTRATION that I have received from the staff at woodmere, Specifically from Andrew ( account payable and membership associate) and Cassandra Olsen (the gym's general manager), I will NEVER be coming back and I don't recommend you even come to this gym. I signed up December 6th 2019 for the gym's winter promotional deal, where if you sign up in December, you will only pay $5 instead of the initial usual down payment to become a member. I jumped at the opportunity for this great deal. I came in person, spoke to Andrew and made it BEYOND CLEAR that I am ONLY here to sign up for December AND NO COMMITMENT since I will be traveling all of January and possibly even February. so I ONLY wanted to stay at the gym for December and then cancel my membership. I told Andrew all of this upfront BEFORE I even signed the membership papers and he said that would be no problem and that I would only have to pay a $10 cancellation fee at the end. I had NO problem with that. He then said he will file my cancellation papers within the next few days, HOWEVER HE LIED. For the next few days, every day I came in the gym, I would follow up with Andrew on processing my cancellation papers and he said, " I will, you have nothing to worry about, as long as I file these within the next few days, you will be good." I SHOULD HAVE NEVER TRUSTED ANDREW. I ended up leaving for Israel January 6th, 2020 and did not return to the US till January 17th, 2020. However, when I got back, as I was checking my credit card transaction to make sure no fraud from overseas happened, I noticed that the NYSC in WOODMERE CHARGED ME $104.98 (69.00 maintenance fee + $34.99 the monthly fee). I was very confused so I called Andrew and questioned him and his EXACT WORDS were, "I'm so sorry, this is my mistake, I FORGOT to process your cancellation papers, I will fix this and be in touch." That was January 18th..... I ended up having to call THREE MORE TIMES and I just kept getting jerked around by BOTH Andrew and Cassandra Olsen, the general manager. It is currently FEBRUARY 12th and I am STILL TRYING to get BOTH MY MY JANUARY AND NOW FEBRUARY REFUNDS BACK BECAUSE ANDREW APPARENTLY FORGOT TO MENTION THAT BC HE INITIALLY FORGOT TO PROCESS MY JANUARY CANCELLATION PAPERS, I NOW ALSO GOT CHARGED $34.99 FOR FEBRUARY. SO now the club owes me $139.97.... the gym staff is so rude and incompetent that I ended up going through my bank and CANCELLED the CREDIT CARD just so the gym can no longer charge me..... in all my years of being a LOYAL MEMBER to the gym, this has put a disgusting taste in my mouth and I tell everyone to NOT GO TO THE NYSC, ESPECIALLY IN WOODMERE. go to retro fitness in hewlett or planet fitness in Cedarhurst.

ZERO STARS -- Cancelled membership to NYSC in Woodmere, took them a few days to process and charge my credit card the $10 cancellation fee. Was told I had '45 days', which starts not when I cancel but when they process the cancellation. They billed me next month membership which I expected even though I cancelled. Then with only a few days remaining in their '45 day policy' they change me an annual membership fee of $69.99 for a gym membership I cancelled. Called to complain and the General Manager Cassandra Olsen who said its part of their agreement and they can charge anything within that 45 days including annual membership fees. When I asked if this fee was at least pro-rated and would I get a refund she hung up. Called the Corp Office and was told the same -- we can charge you anything and we do. I believe they delayed processing my cancellation just so they could change this fee. Do not join - Discussed this issue with others and was told by one past member they charged her for eight months after she cancelled.

I have had nothing but a great experience at NYSC Long Beach. Staff is friendly, management has been really helpful, and the facilities offer everything I need. Over the past couple of months I have scene several improvements, loving the new spin bikes!I have and will continue to recommend this place. Keep up the good work!

Terrible business practices when canceling a membership. In order to cancel one must write a letter and send it return receipt or you must come in person to cancel. I was charged a $10 fee to cancel the membership then the member is charged a prorated fee as of the date of cancellation. Oh and by the way there is also a $60 annual fee in addition to the monthly fee. Fee upon fee upon fee to cancel a membership at a gym where very often the steam and sauna room in the women’s locker room are not in working order. Womens locker room has many broken lockers and bathroom / showers many non working stalls. I would NOT recommend this gym to anyone in Hewlett Woodmere.

If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. The management at this location have to be the most unprofessional people I have ever encountered. I canceled my membership more than a month ago, and not until I saw a freaking $200 charge on my account did I have to call them and speak to a manager about this. And the worst part about it is that I've been calling and calling and the manager is always "with a member" or not in. Seriously?! That club isn't busy at all. Now I'm waking up to see them charging the monthly charge?! And all of this started when the fitness manager had me sign to freeze my account but NEVER told me that I would still be charged $30 monthly!! These people only care about money, they're not concerned about your health or customer service at all. I NEED MY MONEY BACK.

Would give this zero stars if I could. Worst gym. I cancelled my membership in March 2018 as I was moving out of state. They continued to charge me for several months because no one filed the paperwork and after SEVERAL attempts to correct this, I finally got my membership cancelled.

This is one of the nicer NYSC that I've been too. Although it is generally fairly crowded, there is little to no wait for machinery or free weights. The machines are fairly modern. There are multiple water stations with tissues and disinfecting wipes. Also, the locker room is clean and fresh smelling! Finally, they have a amazing hours! On weekdays they open at 5 am and close at 11 pm. All these pluses leaves you with no choice but to head to the gym and workout!
