Dairy Queen Eyes Two More Northwest Valley Towns For Restaurant

Northwest Valley residents will have a chance of Blizzards but without the snow tires, snow shoes and shovels.

Dairy Queen, which is well-known for offering the Blizzard, ice cream Cakes, and other delicious foods and desserts, currently has five locations in the Phoenix area. The company is looking to expand that number two additional restaurants - Peoria and Glendale. A third location in the Surprise region will be open later this year.

There will be between 50 and 100 jobs opening at each location.

National Franchise Sales Director Mike Mettler said the company will continue its steady growth, focusing on the two previously mentioned towns, as the DQ brand sees tremendous opportunity in the state of Arizona, especially in Phoenix's suburbs.

He continued, the new DQ Grill & Chill restaurant openings were met with customer enthusiasm. The company is continuing its search for independent franchise operators who want to work for the company. Mettler said they are also looking at real estate in these areas.

The DQ Grill & Chill idea has a plethora of variety on the menu including core items like burgers and chicken sandwiches, salads, French fries and dessert, which established the company in American history.

Mettler said an average restaurant is one-story, about 2,600 square feet and can comfortably seat 72 people.
