Chipotle Mexican Grill will soon open a restaurant in the Danville area.
The casual fast-dining restaurant, which is known for its Mexican-inspired foods like tacos and burritos, is currently hiring and is looking for kitchen managers, shift supervisors, assistant manager and a general manager.
The restaurant will be located on Piedmont Drive.
Chipotle Mexican Grill Communication Director Chris Arnold said the restaurant has a tentative opening date in the third 2017 quarter. According to Arnold, the restaurant does well around the Virginia area.
He said Danville makes sense in the company's expansion plan because they feel the restaurant will do well.
80% of its restaurants are located in existing markets with another 20% are being established in newer markets. He said the formula allows them to invest most of the expansion capital in areas where the company thinks the returns will be high and also introducing new customers to the brand.
Some of the Chipotle menu items include soft corn tacos, salad, burritos, soft flour tacos, chips and salsa, bottled drinks, soft drinks, kid's menu, etc.
Arnold said the company employs around 25 workers. There are currently over 2,200 U.S. locations with close to 65,000 employees.
Chipotle, which is based in Denver, was established in 1993 with the first established opened near the University of Denver.
Lee Vogler, Danville city councilman, said Chipotle would bring more jobs to the area with their healthy fast-food menu options. People interested in a position can apply at the restaurant or online at careers.chipotle.com/restaurant.
