T-Mobile and Chipotle are coming to Franklin Park and will be located near the new Starbucks location, which is set to open next year.
Glazier Construction started construction on the development project Oct. 31. And, once it's done, the site will be a three-unit, 6,000-square foot commercial building. This building will be located north of the 2800 Mannheim Road Starbucks when it opens.
Karen Special is a trustee and announced during the Nov. 7 board meeting that the groundbreaking ceremony was held to mark the beginning of the retail development construction.
Special said Glazier bought the 42,000 square foot property to develop the retail center. Construction is set to continue through the winter season, and depending on the weather, the retail space is set to open next summer.
According to Zoe Heidorn, Franklin Park Village planner, the company also owns a second village-owned site between the future Starbucks site and Chase Bank. No information about this second Franklin Park site was released.
On top of the new T-Mobile and Chipotle stores, Special said the village held a groundbreaking ceremony for two new industrial projected developments. One building will be 367,000 square feet of industrial space; the other building will be 106,000 square feet. At this moment, there are no prospective tenants for these buildings.
