Hobby Lobby is coming to Hampden Township - its first location in Cumberland County. It will be located in the former K-Mart store along Carlisle Pike and is set to open in June.
Pomegranate Real Estate announced its plans to bring HomeGoods, Stein Mart and Marshalls to the retail center it manages.
Hobby Lobby spokesman Bob Miller said the company is constantly looking at new locations to serve its customers. Oklahoma-based Hobby Lobby has attained positive response from customers that frequent its 12 Pennsylvania stores and feels Mechanicsburg will be a great location for the company.
There are over 750 Hobby Lobby stores around the country. The company is set to open a location in Lower Paxton Township in Dauphin County on Sept. 4.
Hobby Lobby claims to be the biggest privately owned arts and crafts retailer with roughly 32,000 employees in 47 states.
When the Cumberland County store opens, it should create up to 50 new jobs.
Stein Mart, which is Florida-based boutique-style department store will open its Cumberland County store Oct. 19. It currently operates stores in Lehigh Valley and the Philadelphia region.
HomeGoods and Marshalls, which are discount home furnishings stores, will also open but no official opening date has been announced.
According to Pomegranate's website, the three stores would open sometime during the third quarter.
