Construction for a Panda Express could start anytime in the next month.
That's the word from Larry Lott, the Royse City Community Development Corporation executive director, at the CDC's board of directors meeting Jan. 24.
His prediction was made after the Panda Express officials moved ahead to attain authorization for the I-30 corridor overlay district instructions and regulations.
Along with other developments at the site, buildings in the area near the Wal-Mart store will have the signs up and have their "open for business" signs up extremely soon. Shopping center businesses will include Oasis Nail Spa, DentistTree, Palio's Pizza Cafe and Sports Clips.
Lott informed the CDC board members on the preliminary talks he had with two men interested in developing a privately-owned athletic facility. Lott said local officials would be interested in their proposal because it would offer things to the younger generation such as volleyball and basketball courts.
