This is the exquisite restaurant that I treated my (now) wife to on the night that I proposed to her near Blowing Rock, NC! We both ordered from their Specialties menu, the delicious Crab Cakes & the Black & Bleu. I recall this being one of the few occasions I ordered such significant portion of food and did not leave a crumb behind because it was so melt in your mouth good. The waitress had even allowed us to choose a complimentary dessert off their menu due to the special occasion! We are so excited to revisit one day hopefully soon.

3 This is our second time at this restaurant. Once for lunch and most recently for dinner. Both times we had a reservation and both times we waited at least 10 mins after the reservation time to be seated even though there were lots of empty tables. Once seated, it took over 15 mins (for lunch) and 10 mins (for dinner) before anyone came and said hello or offered us water or anything to drink. Both times the service was horrible. Basically they took the order and didn’t come back until they have us the bill. No checking in to see if we needed anything or if the food was to our liking. The waitresses were “friendly” when they spoke to us but it was minimal. It’s a shame since the food is better than average (not outstanding) and the atmosphere is great! It’s a cute little restaurant/bar but we will not be coming back due to the horrible service. Also to note: for the dinner reservation they asked us to wait at the bar. They seated multiple other tables that came in after us while we were waiting. I finally decided to order a drink and literally while I was taking to the bartender the hostess came up and said the table is ready lets go now. I said I’m talking to the bartender and she said well the table is ready. No concept that she was interrupting a conversation or the rudeness of not waiting until we were done talking. We went to the table with out a drink and waited for over 10 mins before I had to go back to the bar to get water and a drink since the waitress never spoke to us (she did help the table next to us but never said hello or I’ll be right back to you etc). As soon as I made it to the bar she rushed over to tell me she would get our drinks as soon as she could and she was headed our way. I grabbed the waters and let her bring the drink (about 5 mins later) to us. In my book this service is just not acceptable. I understand if you have light staff due to COVID but don’t take reservations if you can’t accommodate them.

We were lucky enough to enjoy a great meal here. Our large party was welcomed and seated promptly. We had 2 children who are picky eaters; our server made good suggestions and brought their food quickly, allowing the adults to relax and enjoy the evening. Our food was awesome and the service was impeccable. We visit Blowing Rock yearly and our experience was amazing. Bistro Roca is our new favorite and look forward to a return visit.

We came to Blowing Rock NC for a couples getaway to one of our favorite B &Bs, Gideon Ridge and made reservations at a new restaurant we had researched, Bistro Roca. It was a Friday night and was packed. The menu had a great variety from interesting starters, yummy appetizers and unusually conceived entrees. Our server Kendall was professional, efficient and a pleasure. The entrees were surprisingly creative and delicious. We had the mountain trout and the brisket. I would come back just for the brisket!!! We will definitely be back to try the other great menu options. Definitely a Diamond in the rough!!!

Beautiful space, great service and food. My husband had the Habi burger. It was spicy and delicious. We shared the roasted figs with prosciutto. They were sweet and savory. I had pizza, great crust and flavor.

OMG, just love this place, the food and service are outstanding. Spent the summer in Blowing Rock and ate there frequently. Pizza is great, appetizers are outstanding especially the figs. All the entrees are worth a try. Wine menu by the glass is the best anywhere. Love the porch with windows that open. Just a great place to eat! Don't miss this gem.

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the jerk salmon which had a slightly spicy flavor and my husband had the lamb shank and he said it it was the best meal he had in a long time. And our waitress Paige was attentive and friendly and didn't act rushed regardless of the questions we asked her. We would come back again anytime

The food was delicious we couldn’t enjoy taking our time at the bar enjoying our drinks and appetizers was told we needed to order our food because kitchen was backed up even though it was flipping 3:00 in afternoon. Waitress was horrible sorry your pregnant and have to work I was pregnant and had to work to many years ago. She was rude to other customers also. Won’t go back-get a damn manager in there that knows how to handle their staff and know what goes on..

Incredible restaurant. The pizza and the appetizers are incredible and the atmosphere is great as well. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of food, service, selection and environment. I would highly recommend this location to anyone looking for a nice eat our dinner. We came here for NYE 2022 and everything was incredible. Highly recommend the Roca pizza. Enjoy!

Bistro Roca is a local staple in the Village of Blowing Rock. In the summer, wait times can be over an hour. But for a small town, Bistro is the local favorite.

A trip to BR for 4 days and we ate at this charming restaurant for 2 dinners and a brunch. Food was absolutely delicious!!!! Ambiance was amazing...the Dog Bar was a highlight as well!!! Loved seeing those furry babies on the walls. So cute!!! My husband had the Habi Burger on the last evening and said it was the best meal of the trip and one of the top 5 burgers of his life. Don't miss this little gem of a spot! We will definitely be back!!!!

Restaurant has cold spots where the evening chill can ruin an evening. Very unfortunate as it has a nice atmosphere.

I made this reservation more than a month ago. Celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary I requested to sit inside the restaurant and not on the porch. The day of my reservation I even called to confirm the reservation and again confirmed I wanted to sit inside and was assured this was not a problem. After arriving to the restaurant we were seated. Guess where? Yep on the porch which is cold. We went back to the hostess and once again stated the obvious and were told they couldn't accommodate due to reservations even though I have actually had a reservation for weeks. Unbelievably unprofessional. We do not recommend this restaurant since clearly they do not honor what they promise. I would not care if it wasn't cold and wasn't my anniversary and had I not planned in advance. You would be well advised to choose elsewhere.

Made reservation 3 weeks ago with table by window. Got there Friday for reservation, table requested was not available, disappointed, they did not care. So we ate in the bar, excellent service. So do not bother to make reservation!

A cozy cabin situated just outside of downtown Blowing Rock, NC, Bistro Roca is a quintessential mountain-town destination for refined dining. A gas fireplace sets the tone for the dining room, while close to a million photos of dogs decorate the walls of the bar (I especially loved this eclectic touch). The server was friendly and checked in often, happy to oblige any requests. The brunch menu offered selections to please a variety of palates, and even the seemingly more mainstream options were delectable. I was in a savory mood, so I went for the cuban crepe. The cheese was melted into the perfectly tender pork, and the white bean and hominy salad (+ the pickle!) was the perfect compliment. I love that boutique restaurants in the area, like this one, feature locally sourced items throughout the menu. Wheelchair/handicap accessibility includes one or two parking spots and a ramp to the main entrance, though it could be a potentially bumpy ride. We were lucky to get a handicap spot just as the restaurant opened, but it may not be easy to get in and out without one. We also asked for a wheelchair accessible table in advance when booking the reservation. I'd recommend planning ahead if someone in your group needs accommodations!
