I collect artwork by a somewhat known (depending on geography) North Carolina artist, with most of it hanging on my walls. When I learned that some of his works were displayed and sold by a gallery in Blowing Rock, I had to stop by. The gallery displays many works that appeal to me: outdoors, mountains, streams, woods and more. There is a nice sampling of various artists, and Tim Miller the owner, and Alex, were charming and gracious hosts. I'm glad I decided to stop by, I'll be keeping an eye out for future events and shows!

The people at Blowing Rock Framing are SO NICE. I was worried about shipping two paintings, and they wrapped them up so nicely, so I didn't have to worry at all. Beautiful art to look at and buy, too. Go! You'll love it.

Great taste and quality! They helped me pick out frames and mats for vintage embroidery pieces, and they looked amazing when finished!

In spite of being very busy the owner Tim Miller was most helpful in giving me advice on how to possibly show my work at his gallery

Wow, what a gallery! The staff called the owner to help with a completed issue with a painting, he was off that day and in Tennessee, we left for lunch and came back 3 hours later to meet with the owner who drove 3 hours to help us out! To make a long story short, we have an incredible painting, re framed same day and will go there next time in North Carolina, SERVICE there was the best we've ever had. The best art gallery in North Carolina .

As a Pre-Med student, I believe in helping people to the best of my ability despite the circumstances. Even back on campus, I take my time to walk new families to their destination because of the Golden Rule. Today, when I got lost driving in the state of North Carolina from South Carolina without any means of communication due to lost signal, I expected the same treatment that I provide others. The employee at the store was genuinely concerned, offered to print directions, and even let me use his phone. Together, we found out I had driven 3 hours to my "destination", only to actually be 3 more hours east away from my actual destination. Of course, this warm and kind treatment only emphasized the awful experience that was yet to come. The owner appeared and forced me to use the landline while forcing the employee to get back to work instead of helping. The employee seemed to understand I was beyond frantic but I could tell the owner was judging me. I told my boyfriend to call the landline, which the owner disgustedly told me not to answer because of potential clients. Perhaps I just have a passion for helping others so I found this offense due to his tone. It's logical he must continue his business, but my state of mind was in shambles and he did not need to make it worse. My boyfriend (who turned out to be 3 hours away) was equally frustrated that I was lost so when he called the business, he quickly asked for me, knowing that I'd be terrified and on the verge of tears, especially since I have no experience driving in the mountains. The owner had the nerve to THROW/SLAM the phone on the table IN FRONT OF ME and say, "he could be more polite and say hello". When I volunteer at the hospital and witness patients in excruciating pain who beg for anesthesia due to their hysteria, I do not have the audacity to tell them, " you could be more polite and say please". I EMPATHIZE and justify their expression of true feelings with their current situation. I felt like such a burden so without a solution, I left. I felt stupid to think that someone could care about a 19 year old girl who was lost, without communication, and 3 hours away from her destination while already having driven 3 hours. The owner even had the nerve to sarcastically exclaim, "good luck on your trip" or something among those lines. Luckily, I was able to find a MUCH willing traveling nurse at the neighboring Food Lion who helped me get to a place with signal again. Reading the other guy's review about his blatant racism makes sense because I am hispanic. It is up to you to decide whether you want to do business with this unhappy man, but I personally would not do business with a racist and self-centered "leader". His attitude was not professional at all. Perhaps you wish to return your purchased art or disagree with the final product of the framing and his true colors will show. I'm positive you can frame your artwork elsewhere and purchase more lively art on Etsy. I do want to point out that without the employee, I would have been completely doomed. For that, I am eternally grateful because I made it to Murphy from Blowing Rock. But I could have done without the bitter attitude of an owner who closes his business at 5:00 while I was in dire need of help at literally 4:00ish. This experience was a slap in the face of the cruel reality that the world holds. I honestly pray that if he has children, they never experience the fear that I did, be it county, state, or country. I wholeheartedly say this as a firm believer that what comes around goes around. I am someone's daughter, and life being as it is would bestow teachings he can actually witness not experience, as he did with me. I do not wish the anxiety and rejection on anyone. God bless the traveling nurse and employee. And if the employee ends up being the owner's son, the I wish you the absolute very best :D

The owner is such a racist. Jack up the price 25 times higher based on race....... I didn't believe this kind of things can actually happen..
