A great place where we ate the daily specialty dish, and it was quite delicious. I'll leave a photo of the dish. It's pet-friendly in the outdoor seating area and located in the center of town - a pleasant spot to stop for a meal and continue walking a bit.Food: 5/5

Have always liked Six Pence Pub in Blowing Rock, and we usually ate lunch there when in Blowing Rock, but will (sadly) not go there anymore. Reason? Prices for lunch are WAY too high, cost us a little over $50 for two of us, and their minimum request for a tip is 18%, but we gave them 10%. I know it's a tourist town, but in the winter it's sparse. Worst was the 94 health rating. I realize it's above 89, but they should be in the upper 90's. Portions are also smaller than they used to be, but guess it's like that at all restaurants these days.

After a 45 minute wait we were told they had called but "due to bad reception we probably didn't get it". Then we were told some tables were clearing and could we come back in 15 minutes. We did to find they had a table for six that they were going to split. We were asked to wait in the bar. Five minutes later they had given the four seat table away to a group that just walked and we were asked to sit at the table for three. We were a party of four. Finally another five minutes past and they seat us at a table by the back door and kitchen. The food was excellent! The waitress was efficient. The hostess staff left a lot to be desired.

Service was great! Food excellent! Hot coco was to die for. The weather was very cold and very windy ( so the chill factor was very low). Temperature was 28F with the wind chill around 8 or 9F. So the hot coco was a must but it taste so wonderful. The best I ever had.

Cozy and engaging bar, but with super premium pricing on ordinary food. Great place for beer and apps, but man, have their prices increased since the start of Covid! Wow!! Today (a Wednesday), I had a sandwich, some French onion soup, and a pint of brew for $23 before tip. The eats were good, the brew cold, and the service was attentive. While waiting for my food, I looked over the menu and gasped ... $21 for fish and chips?!?! This same dish was $14ish just a short while ago, and it is $14ish at every other pub in the state. Other items on the menu were similarly overpriced as well. I will always pop in for a beverage and maybe some soup, but given what I saw today, there is no way I will even consider returning for a full-on meal. It's just too darn expensive for pub food. Oh ... one more thing ... NO internet, which is really bad since cell coverage in BR, is generally not strong.

This is a fairly conventional pub with very good quality focused on classics like fish n chips, sandwiches, and so on. It's easily the best pub that you'll find in the area. The atmosphere is great, probably one of the most cozy places in the region.

We enjoyed our lunch time dining experience here! Our sandwiches and burgers were really good! It was very busy but the service was still good. I would suggest a reservation as we did have to wait 20 minutes for our table.

Pot roast and mashed potatoes in an English pub atmosphere. So tender and flavorful. Reminded me of my mom's Sunday roast beef. Husband's burger and homemade fries equally delicious. Be sure to include Six Pence on your next visit to Blowing Rock.

The Hostess seemed like she really didn't want to be there and told us an hour and it ended up being 1:45 minutes. The cellphone signal they know is bad up there yet they still use the cell phone system to contact you which has you returning in an hour to check then waiting around after that. Once you do get seated the waiter was really nice and fast. The French onion soup included onion skins and ends. The sandwich was ok but nothing to flip a twinkie over. I did notice that the place was really dirty and had not been cleaned in a while. The fan blades, light fixtures, pictures, bar glasses and table bases are really in need of attention.

Sat at the bar and it was nice. The grilled chicken sandwich was huge and very good. Wife had the chicken salad/french onion soup, and it was super.

I stumbled into this glorious food establishment in Blowing Rock and I was not sorry. I had the most DELICIOUS FINGER LICKING food here and I cannot wait to go back to this heaven on earth restaurant. Not only was the food good, but so was the service. My waitress Macy was one of the best waitresses I have ever had in my life. It was like she read my mind and gave me what I needed before I even thought to ask. She NEVER let my drink get below half full and always made sure I have lots and lots of ranch. We bonded over the fact that we are both ranch lovers. Anytime I go back I WILL be asking for Macy!!!! I love this restaurant can't recommend it enough!!!

Food is a little overrated for the price. They charge way too much for a sandwhich here and they charged an extra dollar on the bill from what was on the menu so check your bill. Atmosphere is good nice outdoor seating but it's overrated for what the place is really.Food: 2/5

I was pleased to see Scotch Eggs and Bangers and Mash on the menu. We had the Scotch Eggs so that everyone in our large party of 8 could have a bite. The beer selection was large and varied and was offered in 16 or 20 oz. Glasses. The cocktails ordered were perfect in their presentation and taste.
