Really cool bike shop. The employees are really cool. I would definitely get my BMX tuned here.

Cool store in great location with friendly people but service experience was meh. They did a lot of the standard service things like telling you that they would order a part, forgetting to order it, and then telling you that they ordered it when they really didn’t (order origination date gave them away). I had to repeatedly follow-up with them to remember to start work on my bike which was a drag. Once I got my bike back, the cassette that they replaced came loose during the middle of the bike race that I had the cassette replaced for resulting in about 10 miles of nearly constant ghost and power shifting. The suspension bearing that they neglected to order for three months also wasn’t available by race day, which lead to a wallowed-out bearing race and cracked frame. I really don’t want to have to function as an unpaid shop manager and QC inspector, I already have a job that keeps me more than busy enough. It’s also super frustrating for all involved because I don’t want to call/visit them and they don’t want me to call/visit them but if I leave it to them, then the work will be completed poorly and slowly. It might be helpful to come up with a parts tracking system that captures memory/procrastination errors and a QC process more methodical than a ride around the block.

Visit North Carolina from Miami, and I was looking where to ride my bicycle. The employe was super friendly and helpful. The store is awesome too with a lot of nice clothing and awesome bicycles.

They had us in and out in under 30 minutes for a leaky tire tube. The young man who helped us was very friendly, too. Thank you so much for the help today.

Mike and company are great. They've taken care of my bikes for years. I don't live in Boone anymore, but still stop in for work and supplies anytime I pass through. With the college kids and turnover associated with that, sometimes you'll have a slightly different experience than the time before. But they're always good for their work and to rectify any issues.

TL;DR: Stellar bike shop with incredibly knowledgeable staff and positive business practices. Also help with rad trails.Got a mountain bike(Marin San Quentin 2) from them a while back. Clearly very knowledgeable staff from the get-go. Price on the bike was right on point, couldn't complain.Took my bike in today for the free service included with the purchase(cassette was loose and drivetrain was whack). Ended up picking up a mini pump and a nice Bell helmet for unbelievably reasonable cost; especially considering the business is in the middle of downtown Boone. Not to mention they went the extra step in using an orange cable end to match my grips and peds. It's the little stuff that matters!I would also would like to mention that the staff of this bike shop does a lot of work with the local trail network, Rocky Knob; which is probably tied with Tannery Knob in Johnson city as my absolute favorite trail network. Dudes know their bikes and their trails, glad to call Magic Cycles my bike shop.

While on vacation in Boone I had a free day and decided to check out the local bike park, Rocky Knob. I stopped by Magic Cycles whom I found to be very knowledgeable in setting up the Santa Cruz Megatower that I rented for a day. Awesome service and they even shuttled the bike for me to and from the park since it wouldn't fit in my rental. I highly recommend this shop if you're in the area.

Great guys they also do trail work. I was riding rocky knob on a perfect day and the owner, was picking rocks off the trail instead of enjoying great riding. SUPPORT THOSE WHO SUPPORT TRAILS>>>>

This shop has been helping me often on for years. They consistently done a good job. I’ve also sent multiple people to them over the years to rent bikes. The rentals I’ve seen have been set up for the ride her well, and are in overall good condition.

Great shop and excellent customer service. I bent my rear rotor at Rocky Knob on a Wednesday afternoon ride and made it to their shop a little bit before closing. They were able to have a new one on and the bike ready to go by lunch on Thursday. The staff, I believe his name is Mike (I'm sorry I can't remember), was up front about possibly having to put a 180mm rotor on if my 160mm couldn't be straightened (it was pretty jacked up!). I appreciated his professionalism and taking the time to talk with us about local trails since we are from out of town. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Boone.

Nice organized shop but....just a bit slow in the morning. Helpful throughout the day with maintenance and stuff.

Santa Cruz Bronson bike was ready in a few minutes from when I walked in, they accommodated my times so that I could keep overnight and go out really early in the morning. And they gave me great advice on the trails (emerald outback on Beech Mtn). The bike was great, it's a lot of machine for me but i got used to it after some practice. I'll be back in that region in the fall and will rent again from them. One suggestion, ye should rent enduro and all mtn bikes out from your Sugar Mtn location too for the trails on Sugar and Beech.

Some friends of mine referred me to this shop because of Magic Cycle’s expertise and popularity in the area. I brought in a couple of used bikes for tune ups and replacement parts. The entire process took about two months. The information in my repair ticket was lost for a number of weeks, management/employees never called to update me on repairs or completion, and staff repeatedly commented on how cheap the bikes were all 4 times I went to the shop. Overall, I only paid $145 for two tune ups and a replacement part so I figured I could let the rest go.I took the bikes on our first outing today, and the breaks on one of the bikes don’t work AT ALL. So if you are in need of any bikes repairs, I would not recommend wasting your time here. And if you’re new to biking or mountain biking, you’re definitely not welcome here.

We rented downhill bikes from MC at their Sugar Mountain, NC location. They are right next to the lifts so access to the trails a piece of cake. The staff helped us out with everything we needed. The bikes they rented us were high quality and rode like a dream. This was our first time trying downhill mountain biking so the staff made sure we knew what to expect and explained it all to us. It was a great experience for us and I highly recommend MC. We range in age from 17 to 50 and all had fun.

Were in Boone for the day and rode Rocky Knob (super fun!) on the way through to the Virginia Creeper trail the next day. While riding noticed a wheel was out of true and in desperate need of retensioning. Called Magic Cycles and they had me fixed up and out the door in a couple of hours while we walked King St and grabbed some food. Great guys, fair prices. Thanks for working me in!
