Dr. Cardenas and the entire team at 3H did a phenomenal job helping me navigate through undiagnosed lameness in a special horse that came into my life. With the working tenet of “no risk, no reward,” Dr. Cardenas did a thorough, systematic, and thoughtful musculoskeletal evaluation while concurrently introducing balanced and graded physical rehab work. With no drugs or gimmicks, just time and physically/anatomically correct movement and work, this horse steadily improved. The graded rehab program got him back to his “normal job” (as an adult / children’s hunter) and he is now settling into his life with our family. Importantly, while he was at 3H, this horse’s brain and personality were acknowledged and appreciated by the entire staff and he received the love and attention that he deserved.

Outstanding, unparalleled care for my horse!!!Dr Cardenas is incredibly bright, innovative, caring, and a truly brilliant diagnostician and rehabilitation specialist. When no one could determine what was wrong with our horse, Dr Cardenas took a step-by-step approach to a highly complex issue, using world class technology and techniques to pinpoint the issue. Once determined, 3H has state-of-the-art rehabilitation approaches and faculty who took our horse from lame to sound. I cannot say enough about the medical practice, general equine daily care, and the caring nature of each team member. Everyone was friendly, answered all of our questions, and was genuinely concerned about our horse. He was so happy at 3H we almost felt guilty getting him back to work!The Office Manager for 3H, Deon Spencer, is incredibly knowledgeable, organized, and trustworthy, and helped us with every step of the process. The rehab team is outstanding. Finally, Dr Cardenas is truly world class and we are grateful that we have this amazing resource in our community- and even more grateful that they cared for our beloved horse.

Our palomino was in 3H’s care for many years and this week they assisted us in helping her cross over to Heaven after almost 32 years with us. Their level of care and compassion is superior. We called them out many times, for shattered splint bone, eye infections, tooth issues, cellulitis, hoof abscesses and other issues during off hours and we were always pleased with Caribou’s level of care. We highly recommend Dr. Fernando and his entire staff. They are one of the major reasons our horse had such a long and happy life and was available for our grandkids to ride.

Dr Fernando is absolutely amazing. He cares for all my horses whether they are trail or competition horses he treats them all the same. He has taken our competitive horses to the next level and he is truelly the best lameness vet in NC. I wouldn't use anyone else, I've tried and they are nothing compared to him and his practice. thank you so much for all you do for us Dr. Fernando.

We had to put our horse down and they handled the arrangements. It started with spring shots. The vet gave them to our horse (we were not there) but, told us that she was at the end of her life and nothing more we could do on pain management. So, we complained about having given the shots if we needed to instead put her down. They completely reimbursed us for that visit, more than just the shots. Management took great care of us. We had been using them since moving to NC in 2015.

Dr Fernando and his crew at 3H are an outstanding vet team. I am an avid eventer with two horses that need some maintenance. Dr Fernando has been able to identify issues and the best course of action to treat each horse. He is excellent at explaining the ins and outs, as well as the way forward for what is required to keep my horses performing their best. He is very responsive and always texts or calls back! Highly recommend him and am sad to be moving away from the area!

Fernando Cardenas, and his group of excellent Veterinary Doctors, are amazing.3H has been my vet since it opened and I have never for a moment thought of going elsewhere. I have had the good fortune of getting to know many of the 3H vets over the years. Each has been professional, knowledgeable , love their work, and a pleasure to know. The barns, areas, and pastures are meticulously maintained.A year ago we sold our farm of 39 years and moved to a smaller house with no pasture. Fernando let me board and treat my horse at 3H knowing well that my horse has severe COPD and made a lot of extra work for everyone!Noteworthy, NW, was checked on several times a day. He was constantly needing meds, breathing therapy, and couldn’t be around dust, he even was moved around the entire farm to help his breathing. No matter what his health circumstances were, Fernando and the team found a way to keep him comfortable. No one else would have done that. I am forever grateful for the high quality care, attention, and even affection The Team showed NW and me. PS my horse recently, finally, gratefully, went to horse heaven.

3H exceeded every expectation and the bar was high, as I know many who have rehabilitated there. Dr. Cardenas and his staff are compassionate, professional and problem solvers. They go above and beyond. The facility is beautiful, worth the visit and everyone is so welcoming. A serious injury in a competition sport horse is very rough experience for all concerned. Is he in pain? Will he ever be sound? How can I fix this? Rehab takes patience, persistence and the right partners. I am tremendously grateful for being steared to 3H. Dr. Cardenas has the finest equipment...and the finest staff. He was always clear and thorough in his explanations and taught me so much about what my horse needed to regain soundness and fitness. His staff treated my horse the same way that I do and he was calm and happy throughout his stay. My horse is continuing the long slow careful process of returning to Grand Prix level dressage and Dr Cardenas and his staff continue to support me and cheer his progress.

Probably my favorite equine vet in Raleigh. Knowledgeable, kind, and very professional always. He was my horse's first vet (he did the foal check), and 11 years later us still one of a short list who can give him injections without sedation.

Great set of veterinarians and office staff as well. We’ve used them for about five years now and have always been pleased. They have done wonderful things for our little Arabian, including the life-saving rehabilitation (at their facility) of her chronic back issues.
