I will start off by saying I've been to this location quite a few times over the last two years, so my experience today was off putting to say the least. I used self checkout out in my phone number, and started scanning. I noticed an employee was watching me and circled around me and stood literally behind me as I scanned my items. He was standing so close and watching so intently he was giving sku numbers to what I was scanning. I was more than a little uncomfortable to say the least. He continued grilling me as I put in my PIN number to my card, adding to my uneasiness. When my receipt printed he snatched my cart and walked away. I approached a man coming out of the office to address it, but he brushed me off. This is no way to treat your customers. I'm sure there are other means to monitor loss prevention without making people feel like criminals. I am not in the habit of using race as a means, but this felt very targeted being that there were several others checking out, but the focus was only on me. It didn't feel good and I will never visit this location again.

Store pushes self checkout too much.Employee watching these was very rude and disrespectful.I’ll not be going back to this location again.

I shopped at this Food Lion this morning (2/27/23) and was so pleased with the service I received from one of the Food Lion associates, Abdul, in the meat section. He noticed I was looking confused, and he approached me with an offer to help. Not meaning to be cynical, but it's not often that folks go out of their way to offer assistance anymore. He was VERY knowledgeable about the difference in the meat products, what was causing shortages with certain cuts etc.. He was kind, friendly and patient!! When I was leaving, I heard him approach another elderly customer to see if he needed assistance. I can't say enough good things about Abdul. He made me feel valued.

Usually have no issue at this store. Cashier barely spoke. I asked for a coupon, because my purchase of 2 items should have had a dollar each off. Was told I could leave line, go to a kiosk and print or download the app. Then return to check out. Not happening! Spoke to a young lady who at least had enough CS skills to properly explain, but was not sure why my cashier would not assist me. So I spoke to Mike, the acting manager. He was nearly as rude as cashier. I will make sure I visit the Lake Boone Trl location where they have magnificent CS skills.
