Just like Mama makes, had their sweet potato pancakes and they were awesome. I had the short stack and they were huge, big as a dinner plate. Could only eat half. Service good, I would go back next time I'm in town.

My husband and I along with two other couples had a delicious breakfast at the Dixie Grill. The coffee arrived as soon as we were seated in a nice big mug and was very good. We had eggs, grits, biscuits, bacon home fries etc. everyone liked their choice. The omelet that I had was made with the freshest eggs I have ever had and all the vegetables in it were delicious! Great food and great service. Highly recommend!

Always have the Dixie Breakfast of eggs, grits, bacon and biscuits with tea. Absolutely great meal! There are a number of other items on the menu but why mess with a sure thing.

One if the best breakfast I have ever had! The grits were beyond good, had the Louisiana hash since I couldn't decide. Since I travel for work this will be my new to go place for breakfast everything I am in Wilmington. Staff super friendly, it was a joy to eat there

We had a short wait (it was packed), but not surprising on a weekend morning (and St Patrick's Day) for one of Wilmington's top rated restaurant. Once seated we were able to order pretty quickly. Drinks served promptly and considering how busy it was, we didn't have to wait long for our food. The Western Omelet was very good, packed full of flavor and ingredients, including huge chunks of ham. The one weak spot was the fruit. Fresh strawberries, but two melons and pineapple (one piece) were well preserved!Good friendly service made it an exceptional breakfast.

Tried the Dixie Grill for the first time. Every other time we tried they had a line out the door. The server was very friendly and gave great service. The portions were good. The food obviously had been prepared with care. I had the corned beef hash. Big chunks of corned beef in it. Very, very rare to find that. The one downside, and the thing that made this 4 stars instead of 5, was the potatoes in the hash. The used their home fries in the hash. They use a Cajun style seasoning on the potatoes and it overwhelmed the other flavors.

I'm a tea drinker but I come here when I'm in the mood for coffee, it's smooth and rich without the acidic bitterness I find at Starbucks. Even the decaf is good. When I asked, I was told the beans are from a local vendor. The food is simple and good with a good basic menu. Two moderate consumers can easily eat here for under $20. We come often, usually after the rush as we notice it's quite busy in the morning. The servers are not exuberant, but they smile and are polite. 95% of the time the service is quick, the food fresh, and the server attentive. The decor may put you off because it's a bit old but you can't beat the food at these prices.

Great local spot with a southern heritage diner feel. Lots of staple choices on the menu in addition to their regularly updated specials. Usually packed, but service is great and the food comes out quickly. We always come here when we stay downtown!

Go here to eat. Its absolutely the best place in town for breakfast. Sausage biscuit was the size of a burger! And very tasty! Very friendly staff. Great prices! Great atmosphere. Great omletes waffles and breakfast plates
