I live in Tennessee and buy only Gerber chicken from FoodCity. We used to live in Ohio and ate it all the time. Worked at the Hartville Kitchen as a waitress and we were known for the best fried chicken ?. Delivered fresh everyday. Never Frozen!

As reviewer Douglas Michel said below, woody breast syndrome is real. If you've ever gotten this meat, it will put you off of eating chicken for a good long time. There's got to be a way to eliminate it, and I hope you figure it out because the meat isn't even like chicken and cannot be chewed. I can't think of any other way to describe it.

Gerber chicken used to be excellent quality until about 2 years ago. At that point, the larger breasts developed a truly horrible texture that renders it inedible. After some digging around, I found it has a name - "woody breast syndrome". That describes it pretty well. The chicken industry doesn't quite know what causes it but it seems to be linked to the use of genetics that cause chickens to grow as large as possible as quickly as possible. So if you are banking on good tasting, palatable chicken, avoid Gerber. If you are counting on this chicken's quality due to its being raised by the Amish, think again - its factory chicken regardless.

I purchased Gerber bone in chicken breasts at the Amish Marketplace in Boardman Ohio last week. Absolutely the most tender, delicious, juicy chicken I’ve had in 25 years. Chicken has been so tasteless and tough my family gave up on eating it… but I’m thrilled to have found Gerber chicken and will be buying more directly from the Amish Marketplace from now on. What a joy to find a great product again!

Literally, the worst chicken I've ever bought in my life. I won't buy this product again. I bought two packages of wings, and one package of the chicken breast. It was all rubbery, inedible and was thrown into the garbage. The animals must be extremely stressed. Extremely poor farm management and very poor animal husbandry. I wouldn't feed this to a cat!

As a truck driver and owner operator, I rate this place a maximum five stars because I got loaded very quickly, in like 15 minutes after being backed into a door that was assigned to me by the security guard check at the entrance into the plant. George, the guy working as the security guard person was very nice and polite and the other two people I dealt with as well. Congratulations to the management for getting everything running smoothly and efficiently, as it should be everywhere else.
