Typical small town grocery store. Good selection for the size of it and friendly service. They could use a lotto terminal and a beer/ wine selection.

No small town discount here. You're further ahead to shop at Giant tiger if you can, your wallet will thank you.
It's a nice enough store, with a great selection but prices are a little nuts. I just paid $2.20 for a tiny white onion, put that with a block of cheese and a cam of tomato sauce for also 25 dollars....no thx

I’m in deep River today for work and I went to grab myself some lunch from Valu-mart. I grabbed some sushi, And after looking around for a while myself, I couldn’t find any chopsticks or forks at any of the food areas. I went to ask a staff member at the front who was standing talking to another staff member and they pointed me in the direction of the sushi. I explained that I’ve already been over there and there was nothing and they said perhaps we are out. No problem, I can definitely eat it with a fork. Where would I find those? and they just pointed and continued to talk and laugh. I came back again patiently after triple checking and said “I’m so sorry I’m not seeing any can someone please give me a hand” and they said we have some then proceeded to do nothing and continued to talk and ignore me. I just felt so disrespected and they were so unhelpful and unbothered that I needed help as they continued to talk and ignore me. I looked around the store again before just putting my sushi back and getting something I could eat with my hands. It was not busy and no one needed them elsewhere. So disheartening.

Overall a good local grocery store. In fact, the only one. Has just about everything you need. Aisles are a little tight and it could use a bit of paint but overall a great experience. Also they are inclusive of hiring the disabled.

Overpriced in relation to surrounding grocery stores.
Prices also go up on a regular basis compared to other grocery stores.
If possible avoid and go to giant tiger or into pet

The management is good, but the staff seem to think it is alright to publicly threaten the life of my two year old loudly if I go alone!

Not a bad place to shop, prices on somethings are way too much but when you pretty much have a monopoly on grocery in the area, you can do what you want. Some of the employees seem to think it appropriate to give parenting advice instead of scanning your items through, and occasionally one will hover over you at self checkout or glare at you like you are stealing, which is pretty unnecessary. However, a vast majority of the employees there are great and will go above and beyond to help you and they deserve to be spotlighted.
