Accidentally found this gem!! As a musician in north london area it is daunting to have to go to L&M for everything. Not to mention I am not buying local. They have strings, picks, drumsticks, kazoos, shakers. But they also are a full lesson outfit for drums, Guitar Piano & wind! So happy I found this place! Also, now that I know there is a second location I intend and look forward to shopping there!

Our family has been part of the Academy of Music family for nearly a decade. The teachers are all highly qualified and share their love and appreciation of music with the students. They are so encouraging! A great variety of instruments are taught at the school. Working with the Academy is easy. They help busy families nurture their children's gifts by arranging lesson times and carrying any resources you might need to further your child's music education (music books, scores, instruments, accessories, etc.). We have always felt a strong sense of community and connection with the teachers and owners of the Academy, as well as other families we see at lessons and annual recitals. All of our children have taken lessons at one point or another, with instruments ranging from piano to ukulele. As a graduate of the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University, I love bringing my kids to learn at the Academy of Music as well as supporting the school and its teachers.

All 3 of my girls are currently taking music lessons at the Academy. We have been coming there for 4 school years and have only good things to say about the teachers. My girls have studied piano, violin and drums. Each teacher brings out a unique side of his/her student. I find they begin where the student is at and gently push them to become more skilled and confident. The owners are very accommodating as well. For example, they worked hard to find a drum teacher for one of my girls so that she could have her lesson at the same time as her 2 other sisters. All 3 are enjoying their lessons so much and I would recommend the Academy of Music to anyone looking for music instruction.

Piano lessons at Academy of Music have been a weekly part of our lives for over 7 years. Our son has grown in his playing ability, his knowledge of music theory, and in his confidence. The teachers have been supportive, encouraging, and motivated to help him succeed in his own way and on his own timetable. I've even checked something of my bucket list with a couple of successful years of guitar lessons at the school. Needless to say we've been very happy at Academy of Music.

I have been at Academy of Music for 4 years and it has been the best. I have recommended it to a friend and now she goes to the Academy of Music. I learn piano and voice from the same teacher who is so helpful and kind. I hope that I will be staying at Academy of Music for much longer. I hope I will learn more instruments to come. It is a great place to learn! I know lots of people there from my school. Learning from Academy of Music I hope I can be a music teacher when I grow up. I enjoy performing at the concerts for my family and friends. I love Academy of Music! No place can be better than it.

I have been taking piano lessons at Academy of Music West, for the past 3 years. My teacher is extremely musical, knowledgable, patient, friendly and accommodating. She, along with the owner Walter, have made my experience and introduction to music most rewarding. I look forward to each lesson with anticipation, knowing I will come out of my lesson refreshed and exhilarated. I would highly recommend this music academy to any and all interested in taking up singing or a musical instrument.

The teachers are friendly and knowledgeable; the owners are personable and kind. The schooling is also very affordable. I love going to this school and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to start or continue music lessons.

I have been with the Academy for over 8 years, and loved every second of it. They go above and beyond to work around my needs. They provide a warm welcoming atmosphere and are always super friendly. The academy is a great place to learn!

Horribly disappointed in Beth the Voice Coach. We asked the Academy (which gave perfectly great ukelele lessons to our eldest) whether they could provide a voice coach to rectify a "W" instead of "R" issue. They gave us Beth. Beth, when we explained what we needed (my daughter uses a "w" instead of a "r" , like Wascally Wabbit), said she could help. She instead, seems wont to play piano and sing. We paid $200 this month, not for Beth to hear herself sing, but for our 8yr old to have this issue addressed, and voice/singing lessons for our 4 yr old. Beth told us last week that the 4 yr old didn't say a word. How can you say you have done a voice lesson if your pupil has not spoken? Just play piano and sing to them? That is not teaching, that is hearing yourself sing. With our 8-yr old, this weekend the 4yr old was sick, so I told Beth to please use the whole hour to help our 8yr old with the "W"/"R" issue. Imagine my shock and surprise when I arrived 20 minutes early, and heard Beth playing piano and singing. I asked the counter guy what was going on. He was defensive and said he would help me contact the owners. Beth came out and I asked her why, after I had explicitly told her to use the whole hour on the "W" and "R" issue, she had been playing the piano and singing. Her (saucy) answer was, "I am not a speech pathologist". Well, we HAD asked Academy of Music whether they could have a voice coach help with our issue, Beth had agreed she would do so, then ... she didn't. And then had the unmitigated gall of .. well, doing what she wanted, which in this case, was hearing herself sing. That is not what you pay $200 for is it?
