I have always loved going to Heemans, starting with when Iâd go get plants during Covid. I go often, every few months. We get plants, pots, beehive, and other products⊠And we always stop at the bakery/cafĂ© on the way out. Sometimes I go alone, sometimes I go with friends, family, and sometimes I bring my dogs. The food is always great, plants are always really good quality⊠The prices are a bit high lately, but I guess thatâs everywhere so thatâs OK.
Today, I just had to write a review because I was very unimpressed with the staff. I know the Heemanâs (eg Will) have put a lot of effort into their online presence. The management really tries to get people involved and excited about coming in. There was no option to âcontact usâ But I feel that management needs to know this. I was there at 1 PM today and stayed for a couple hours with a friend of mine and my daughter. We got some plans and went to the cafĂ©. Anyways, while we were shopping around about to be done, these two female females were unpacking Christmas picks / decor. They were both complaining very openly, and very loudly, using some not-so appropriate phrasing; about working at Heemans. The one that was facing the entrance, was complaining that she constantly has to be the one that closes and she doesnât understand why sheâs always put on that shift. Then they went back back-and-forth about how upset they were that they werenât told about the staff potluck until midnight the night before so they wouldnât attend, and even if they did attend, they would just bring leftover Thanksgiving dinner to eat there. Itâs just not very professional to complain about your shifts to complain about other staff members And to complain about things regarding work in front of customers. I donât want to mention the name, but I am a relative of one of the other staff members these two were complaining about. I donât think itâs fair that staff are complaining about their job, but also complaining about other staff members in front of customers because you never know who is Able to hear, and if my niece knew people were talking about her that way, she would not want to work there anymore.
