Nice little museum. Tells you the history of Oakville through the family that owned the house. Most of the rooms can only be seen with a guided tour, but like the entire museum, this is free. At the end there is the opportunity to watch a film about the Underground Railroad. Here a refugee talks about her journey to Canada. All in all, very nice if you have time for it.

It was the Life work of a Man that should have stayed in the Family by all means. So much history and more in that building. The Singer ordinal sewing machine models, the ancient appliances, the bathroom shower/knobs, original bathing soap and Tissue papers, Dresses and Family tree frame all had so much to say about the life and times of the Founder of Oakville and his Family.

Worth visiting this museum. We came to Lakeside park and saw this museum. Thought of visiting it as it was very close to Lakeside park. General admission is through donation. Guided tour of museum is available. Our guide Natasha showed us the whole museum, tour was very informative. Other side if the museum can be visited on your own. It has ancient typewriters, sewing machine, telephone et,. My son was amazed to see typewriter. He typed a few words too. This section is great for kids.

Fantastic park with great views. There is a walkway to lighthouse. Few benches thru out the park. Parking is on the street. Best times to visit are either evening or night. Go when it's full moon. No place to BBQ or swim.

Nice lakeshore view and good for walking. No BBQ at this location that's why it's less crowded.
