Owner, staff, and students at Imani are friendly. Environment is welcoming and all the added touches to make it personal are on point particular the wall of who is who. I got a pedicure from Ms. Rosari (student) who was both professional and personable. Every single person I encountered was warm and kind.
Imani you are doing an amazing job, thank you it is hard to find a place that has all the right boxes checked. š¦

I am currently enrolled at Imani Institute of Cosmetology for both Basic and Advanced Esthetics, and I couldnāt be happier with my experience so far! The owners and instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and truly want to see every student succeed. The curriculum is thorough, hands-on, and keeps up with current industry standards, which makes me feel confident about building a strong future in the beauty and wellness field.
I love the positive, professional environment hereāit feels like a community where everyone encourages one another. Iām extremely grateful for my instructors, Lindsay and Melissa, as well as the owners, Ronda and Dan, for their dedication and support. The skills Iām learning are not only helping me grow as an esthetician but also preparing me for real-world success. I truly love this school and highly recommend Imani Institute to anyone considering a career in esthetics or cosmetology!

Imani school is such a wonderful school, the staff and students are wonderful and they really try and they do a great job! Ive been coming over 2 years now and its the only place I go for my haircuts! I love to help the students so they can get their credits to graduate, and its very clean and everyone is very professional and I love the new remodel the owners did for the students and guests! Great job yall. Love helping the local school and being part of our community! Definitely recommend going here if your a male or female! Their services are very affordable and the do just as good as normal salons if not better in my opinion because they care and they try... see yall next month..

Absolutely amazing I had the best experience the students were friendly and outgoing and had such a positive vibe the instructors were awesome. I not only go there for haircuts but I've also gone there for some tattoo work and the students are doing a great job.
I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else for a haircut and to be quite honest I'm quite pleased with the tattooing as well. If I could give 10 Stars I would thank you Imani institute.

If youāre considering enrolling at Imani Institute of Cosmetology, I strongly recommend doing thorough research beyond the schoolās marketing. On paper, the program may look promising ā in reality, my experience was marked by what I believe to be deeply unprofessional conduct from the administration, particularly in how they handle students who speak up or assert their rights.
At first glance, both the administration and staff present themselves as friendly, supportive, and invested in studentsā success. However, beneath that polished surface, I experienced ā and witnessed in others ā a very different reality once problems arose. Policies seemed to shift without notice, communication was avoided rather than encouraged, and legitimate concerns were met with defensiveness or outright retaliation.
One of the most troubling experiences I had was being removed from the program and labeled as having taken a āvoluntary withdrawal,ā despite never requesting to leave. In my opinion, this misrepresentation not only disregarded my actual enrollment status, but could also be considered a breach of contract ā a serious matter for any student investing significant time and money in their education.
In my opinion, rules were sometimes applied inconsistently, and I saw instances where students were penalized for reasons that felt personal rather than policy-driven. What was especially disappointing was seeing staff follow the same example ā rather than advocating for students or helping them resolve issues, some appeared to side with the administration or even tell students to ājust deal with itā instead of addressing mistreatment. This kind of culture does not build professionals; it erodes trust and morale.
Itās also worth noting that during my time there, students ā myself included ā were asked to write positive reviews about the school as part of a lesson or to qualify for a prize. The prize was never delivered, and in my opinion, this practice casts doubt on the authenticity of many glowing online reviews.
Education should empower students, not make them fear the next meeting with administration. My advice to prospective students: speak to multiple alumni ā not just the ones the school refers you to. Ask specifically about how the school handles disputes, policy changes, and student welfare. And pay close attention to how the administration treats both staff and students on a daily basis ā especially when they are stressed or in a bad mood. What you hear may save you time, money, and stress.

I didnāt have the best experience. I got there 5min before my appt, and the lady at the front desk said my hair stylist was running late. Totally cool, I understand that happens sometimes. But I waited for 50min before the instructor came in and said the hair stylist was not coming in at all. Very frustrating on my end since I had been waiting. It would have been different if the stylist had been upfront from the beginning about not being there. But it doesnāt seem like she cared about other peopleās time.

If I could score lower i would.
Upon arriving everything seemed very unorganized with people switching roles and seemed chaotic when nothing seemed to be going on.
After signing papers and waiting at least 30 minutes after the scheduled time.
We were told they were unable to do the tattoo because she went into needle shock 1 time 2 years prior.
Seriously don't go here if you have any medical history they will not serve you apparently. This experience was appalling to say the least. Never again for any reason will I be returning.

This is the second time I have come and both times I had to wait for a long time. The first time nobody ever even came out to greet me, waited about 10 minutes. I walked out.

I am thankful I took the steps in furthering my career and for Megan taking me under her wing and showing me all the new things!
