Delicious! I had the Chicken Tikka Masalla and it was so delicious, perfect creamy tomato sauce and the chicken was nice and tender. My partner had the Himanis Grill Platter which he devoured. The only thing we thought was odd was having to buy the rice separately but it wasn't a big deal.

I loved the vegan chai, vegan egg plant dish with my roti. Recommended for all vegans.

Answering service isn't the best. As a English speaker they didn't understand anything I said. Food was simply tasteless.Food: 2/5

Came here on a Sunday afternoon, and there were maybe 3-4 other families, so the place wasn't too crowded. We had a party of 2 vegetarians and 2 vegans, so we were looking to get some breads and entrees that all of us could eat.Unfortunately, they didn't have any naans or rotis that could be made vegan, which was fairly strange for an Indian restaurant, so the vegans in our party had to make do with just plain basmati rice. The food was otherwise surprisingly tasty. We got the Bindi masala, Chana masala and the Spinach Dal, all 3 of which were very flavorful. The service was good, if a bit slow, and they kept our table replenished with the hot drinking water we requested. The vegan chai we ordered was excellent as well.Overall, a good experience, but looking forward to seeing some vegan bread options the next time we visit.

Stopped in after our basketball game before hitting the road home. A very nice, clean and cozy restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing, the hospitality was very welcoming. We will make sure to stop hear again next time we are in town.

Really good food! I haven’t had a dish here I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. Staff is polite. Having to order at the counter is kind of lame, but probably for the best because in my experience things progress here real slow. If you are eating in, my advice is to bring a book or a board game. If you are ordering to go, I suggest adding an extra 10-15 minutes to whatever pick-up time they give. If you are trying to catch a quick bite before a movie, this place is worth saving for another time. Medium spicy is pretty tame.

Food was scrumptious, wonderful service and beautifully served.Regarding previous comments on service: please keep in mind the “help wanted” sign in the window. Understaffing is a huge issue across the restaurant industry. This may also apply to ordering at the front and paying before/after the meal. Also considering dinner prices the food is very filling and, while they may not be large, American-style servings for some dishes, it is quite reasonably priced for the amount of ingredients and quality of the spices and overall taste of the food. As four adults, we were full after making three dishes and sides a family-style meal that cost $60. A solid 5/5 don’t sleep on this lunch buffet or fun dinner experience.

Delicious!!! This was our 1st time dining here. We always stop in Astoria when heading down the Oregon coast. We ordered 2 different lamb curry dishes and they were Devine! My mouth waters thinking of our next time driving through for lunch.

Amazing food. I've been going to Himani's Indian Cuisine for over 10 years. My favorite is the Cracked Pepper Chicken with Rice and Garlic Naan (pictured). This restaurant is a must whenever I visit the northern Oregon coast.Wherever You Are In The Northern Oregon Coast, Be Sure To Stop By Himani Indian Cuisine. Your stomach will thank you for it. Your lips will smack your brains for not coming sooner. ?

Stopped here for a quick lunch. The Indian food we received was scrumptious! Honestly, the best Indian I’ve ever gotten from a restaurant. The naan was also spectacular! Aside from homemade, it too was the best I’ve had. It was buttery, warm, and best of all not burnt!Only four stars because service was dismal. We were asked to pay for our food before we were waited on or even had a chance eat. I not did feel comfortable with this, because I didn’t know what to tip. The waitress had us wait for about 10 minutes for a table, despite the restaurant being almost completely empty. Once we were seated we never received refills and didn’t see our waitress again. I ordered a mango lassi and didn’t receive it. I couldn’t ask where it was because our waitress was MIA. I should’ve tipped less honestly. But overall great food just terrible service.

Difficult to describe food like this. It isn't *like* anything I've had before. New flavors, textures, and smells- most of them really good! Just read the labels beforehand so that you don't expect something savory and end up with a mouthful of dessert instead. I recommend going to the lunch buffet a couple of times (they rotate different dishes into it) before going for dinner so that you can figure out what you like.

Stopped here for lunch. Overall we enjoyed the food, the pakoras were good but a bit smaller than we were used to and made them difficult to dip in the tasty sauces provided. The chicken main course we split with rice, naan and raita as sides was very good. The salty lassi was a bit too salty for me but my wife liked it. Service was good despite an obvious shortage of staff ( most places on the coast are having the same problem). Overall we would come here again.

If you want to be discriminated against this is the place for you!We asked to dine outside because it was a beautiful warm night and it looked like their AC was not working inside. We were given a menu and was told to order inside when we were ready. Menu is full of good traditional Indian cuisine, so many to choose from so little time because we have a long trip ahead of us. When we finally decided what we wanted, I went in to place order. The couple that were seated outside next to us went in ahead of us to pay. So I sat back down and waited for them to finish. I gave them enough time but when I checked again there was another couple paying their meals so I waited for them to walk out before I head back in.I placed our order and when I was about to turn around and head back the cashier/waiter asked me to pay, I was shocked. Really??Everyone paid their meals after but only I had to pay before my meal? ( I was thinking in my head I didn't say it) Seeing how everyone paid after, I went in with the intention to pay afterwards. Because this was not the pattern I witnessed, I had to retrieve my wallet outside.I paid. I gladly paid but I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. Standing there paying for a meal I haven't received while others are dining in looking at me pay when they haven't paid themselves. What did I do to deserve this? Why can't I pay after like everyone else?It was our first time there and it will be the last.

We don’t miss a meal at Himani when traveling through Astoria. We have our favorites including their eggplant and okra dish. Gobi 65 is something my kids look forward to following a recommendation from a friend. A must try!
