On Friday I was planning on selling some books back to Powell's, and then coming to get some lunch. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get there when they opened for buy back @ 10am. When I got there at 1:00, there was a huge line and the employees were up to their eyeballs (figuratively) in books...shocking I know. So i waited in line for about 30 mins, and then threw in the towel. I was hungry and people actually (see how I didn't use 'literally' there?) had plastic totes full of old books. Seeing as I failed to make it there today, and I am guessing they are closed on Easter, I guess these books will be living in my car for at least a week before I can get a credit for them....silver lining? I will be able to go to Dave's Hot Chicken for lunch while they are going through my (kids) books. See next review for yummy details

If I learn about a new book I go to Powell's site to see if there's a copy at the Cedar Hills location because you can easily park here, run in and grab your book. Here's the problem: none of the books I'm looking for are ever here. They might be downtown but downtown isn't convenient. That said, a lot of the things I want are at the location called Local Warehouse. Is it that hard to stock one copy of Flaubert's Salammbô at one of the three stores? Maybe it's just my taste and I'm irked that Burnside is the only location with a copy of Andrey Platonov's Chevengur while Local Warehouse has twenty copies. Ew buoy.

I am not sure if their book numbering is off or if the shelves are not in order by author name or genre or what not, but the staff never seems to be able to find what I asked for... The sitting space chairs are metal not comfy. The tables are wobbly. The lighting near the back middle of the shelves is poor.

A good book store. So many books, it has that library vibe. It's good they have a used bookstore too.

Not as vast as the original location, but what do you expect? This location has new and used books, and has a counter for purchasing used books from customers. The selection is great and there are always items on sale that are difficult to resist.

Helpful employee available at info desk to direct me properly to type of books I needed for wanted gifts to choose from.More wonderful wide and fun selection of low to mid priced gift items after choosing from easy priced book selections. So I was able to complete my gift shopping at one place. Great shopping experience!?

Unaware of this location, I was pleasantly surprised to see the expansive space filled with books both new and used. They had a wide selection of topics and types of books available. One thing that I found enjoyable was being able to go through the new books and find new ones that I was interested in and then was able to find the same ones in the used section some for half the price. Well it may not be as large as the Portland location, it is certainly a large facility that has much to offer a any stage of reader.

How I love Powell's!!!The Cedar Hills Powell's is well-organized & team members are awesomely knowledgeable. What they dont know, they act quickly to find out.The store layout is logical, easily navigable, & features a clever balance of great books & oh-so-tempting gifts.Find that hard-to-find book, pick up delightful &/or practical gifts, or just relax in the sooting ambiance & pleasure of shopping with fellow book enthusiasts.

Powell's is great! I was able to take my son here and he found a book, puzzle and reusable bag instead of a gift bag and it cost $5 more and was a Powell's reusable tote bag. Love all the variety and love that we just had to go to Beaverton since we live closer to Newberg! The staff were all great and helpful that I interacted with. Value was good, especially since the book was a used one and much cheaper than a brand new one! My son was able to put together a gift for his friend at a decent price and he did great picking it all out on his own.

Awesome book selection and friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable prices. It’s fun to walk around and browse. They have other cute items as well and even some games.

It's certainly not as big as the Powell's Books in Burnside. It has a lot of books, but unfortunately the cheaper books are at Burnside.

Powell’s books is the place to shop for books in PDX and beyond. Plus they love Karelia Stetz-Waters’s romance.

Smaller version of the flagship store in downtown Portland. Good parking here, and no traffic or other issues to deal with. The store has a good selection of both new and used books. Lots of employees around, however none seemed very inclined to help find products. They also had a great selection of gift type products. The store was very clean, but restroom was pretty nasty.

This place has lots of books. Like, a lot of books. Nothing really strange about the Powell's Books. The weird part is the mall it is attached to. It has a bunch of empty stores in it. Strangely dead, given how busy all the other near by stores are. Also, I just discovered the þ key on the keyboard. Not sure how to pronounce a þ or what words use it. Probably another reason to go back to Powell's and find a book on non-standard letters.

Great selection and reasonable prizes. The staff is super helpful in helping me find books and order if they don’t have. Very cozy environment and interesting items. I love their Manga selection as well as board games and table-top RPG books!
