Very friendly staff,but budget dosent honor the internet deals that they offer

Our box truck was double booked so local guy kept pushing a smaller cargo van or wait a few days for that truck to be returned (meaning more time off work at same rates) and stated there were NO other options! Called Corporate to schedule another from a farther location... corporate guy couldnt understand why local wouldnt upgrade us, he called him and made the local guy give us a bigger truck but, he gave us a death trap. Steering pulling hard to the right, shocks worn to the point of altering direction on bumps and transmission wouldnt shift out of lower gears after any hill (about 600 miles into trip) with engine light coming on intermittently. Ac worked for 30 seconds every 5 to 10 minutes or so and was lied to again by local agent about there being bluetooth on the CD player for phone calls. Complained to corporate with the list and all 3 return phone calls promissed from a supervisor NEVER happened! I move a lot due to my job and have always had minor issues (such is life) but, NEVER this many that were this scary, blatantly lied to, coerced or treated with complete apathy from their lack of integrity!

Terrible service. Made a reservation at Salem Oregon Budget (at the airport) for a cargo van 3 weeks in advance to move out of state. Went in 3 days before to verify they would have our van available and ready - the clerk reassured us we would be good to go come moving day. The morning of our move we get a voicemail from that clerk saying they did not have a van for us.
We immediately went down there and were told trhey never had a van for us and that they were "hoping a cargo van would be dropped off at a Budget near them" so they could fulfill our reservation. No apologies, nothing. In the middle of us talking with him another couple walks in and he walks away from us to talk with the other couple. Don't rent from these guys - no substance just empty promises.

I had reservation a month in advance for 8 person van. I get there they are like oh sorry. The two ladies behind the counter were like not our problem. Didn't offer to try and find me another vehicle. Just try Portland airport. Seriously? I will NEVER use budget again.

Made the reservation on their app. Day of pick upI walked in, verified my identity, paid, and walked out in a matter of minutes. App was easy to navigate and the car was great. My new go to rental outfit

If I could give zero stars I would was promised a discount that they refuse to give sat in pouring rain for hours because my rental wasn’t ready and on top of that had to pay out of pocket to replace a flat tire bc that’s how they gave me the truck worst rental place in Salem will NEVER rent from them again and the customer service is absolute trash I called about the discountI was promised and was told I would get a call back and waited an entire with no call when I called back the chick that promised the discount was gone for the day

They do not honor their contracts, and are never open during their scheduled hours. I booked a rental online for a pick up at 12pm for two days and the return time would be 12pm. I didn't have a car "obviously" so my 11yr old daughter and I walked 5 miles across Salem to find out they closed at 12pm and would not open until 7pm.Customer service hotline was very helpful and did compensate me for my troubles with a discount on the rental as well as reschedule my pick up time for 7pm and drop off time of 7pm two days later. When I did pick up the car the girl at the counter was rude and told me even though they were closed that she was there until almost 1pm and that's just how they do it and I should have paid attention to their scheduled hours Upon returning my car at 6pm on the second day they were again closed. I dropped the keys in the box and carried on with my life. I wake to an email saying that I was being charged for the extra 15hrs because I didn't return the car before they closed at 5pm. I was charged for the gap of time which was 5pm-8am, which was the entire time they were closed. The guy I spoke with at that rental location and was also unprofessional and told that in no way did my contract say to return by 7am because they would are closed at that time. Remember I did pick the vehicle up at 7pmI again had to call customer service which was again helpful and took the steps to remove and reimburse me the over charge.5 stars for customer service hotline operators, negative 5 stars for the location of the rental.

Absolutely horrible experience with Budget for the second time. We will not be using them again. Reservation was not available, so we had to pay more, promised multiple times to get a discount that never happened, got overcharged, and then had to unhook the car trailer ourselves that was already attached to the truck. Last year, we weren't able to get a trailer to pull the car and had to pay for double the miles. Budget has not been helpful and it is difficult to get someone over the phone. In addition, the individuals on the phone are not empathetic.

Bring a lunch, phone charger, sleeping bag and a pillow with you because you're going to have to wait all day to check-in and out.

My relative rented a large truck and trailer to move across country. They ended up being stuck on the side of the road waiting for assistance as two tires were bald and worn out. This facility never checked all the tires for safety! Unacceptable for the amount of money they charged! Go somewhere else!

I give them one star only because the desk person was super friendly. But they took over $1300 extra from me for charges from the previous renters because they didn’t check the rental in correctly. It’s been 3 months and I still haven’t gotten my money back. I have called so many times and have been down to the branch so many times. I have gotten the run around as to where my money is and when I’ll be getting it back. ???
