This is a basic no frills American Food diner. The food is good, but not exciting.I would eat here again when in the mood for bacon and eggs. This restaurant charges extra for fee for not paying with cash. Not my favorite business model.

This place has a quaint, rustic country atmosphere. It's located in downtown salem, next to Riverfront Park. The dining area issmall, the tables cramped together, and the restaurant busy. I went here because of the good reviews, however, I would give this place no more than a 2-3 star rating. The service was average, cleanliness average, atmosphere slightly stuffy and not enough elbow room. I was most disappointed with the food. I ordered 2 eggs and 1/2 french toast w/ side of breakfast potatoes. The potatoes had little flavor and had more of a consistency of boiled potatoes instead of crispy breakfast potatoes, and the French toast was awful. The portion size of the french toast was larger than expected for 1/2 order, but the flavor was very bland and served with margarine instead of butter. They also use cornflakes to crust the outside of their french toast, maybe a good idea if cooked right. However, my french toast was thin, heavily crusted in cornflakes, and chewy. I was hungry, but it hurt my mouth to chew through the overcooked hard cornflakes, and I couldn't finish my breakfast. Also, I wouldn't suggest eating here if you have a shellfish allergy, I found a whole shrimp in my french toast, and yes I said a shrimp, little legs and all, crusted in between cornflakes. I informed my food server of the extra additon to my breakfast, however, she didn't seem surprised at all. She just said I will let the cooks know to be more careful.

Had the pleasure of having breakfast the other day. We were pleasantly greeted upon arrival and our waitress was so friendly. The cinnamon roll french toast is amazing, also the banana nut french toast is good as well and the bacon was also cooked to my liking.

A cute little out of the way breakfast joint on Court Street near the riverfront park. I didn't even know this place was here! I ordered the French toast breakfast and my partner got the salmon eggs Benedict breakfast. Food was amazing, service was fast and friendly, and the atmosphere was quaint and very true to Salem's overall aesthetic downtown. Loved eating here and will definitely be back!Parking: Since it is on Court Street, parking options can be limited, but it's a short walk from the mall garage.

Love, love, loved the breakfast here! Chicken fried steak and eggs was amaaazing. The over easy eggs were perfect, and the steak was so lightly breaded, which I loved. It was really steak, not just a bunch of breading. My bf got the Tex-Mex scramble with sour dough toast - also yummy. The English toffee latte was tasty but super sweet. I bet you could ask them to make it less sweet, though. The staff was really kind and friendly. The only con is its a really packed small dining room, but hey, they're just trying to fit everyone in. It was packed, but not a long wait and a good sign it's where you want to eat.fyi - you seat yourself, and there's a tiny cc charge. It's only 3% (I believe), but bring cash if you can.

I paid 16 or $17 for the chicken fried steak. What arrived was a ground beef patty with soggy breading. What? Neither the menu nor the price indicated that this was what’s known as a “poor man’s chicken fried steak.” If I’m going to be paying $17 for a chicken fried steak I’m expecting to get a piece of beef steak. The ground beef wasn’t even seasoned, it just tasted like bloody ground beef. If the ground beef patty had come with a crispy fried outside that had a crunch I could’ve probably eaten it and known to never order it again but it was soggy and mushy.I also ordered over medium eggs and an English muffin. The English muffin was so burnt that my teeth couldn’t even tear it and the eggs came with runny egg whites. The potatoes were good. When the waitress came over, I told her that my steak tasted like ground beef and not chicken fried steak. She admitted that they do a ground beef chicken fried steak, but if I didn’t like it, they were happy to replace my meal. I took her up on that and ordered biscuits and gravy. What arrived was not a biscuit, but a super fluffy 4x4 piece of bread that was 3 inches high. That was only a half serving of biscuits and gravy. It wasn’t bad, but the bread just soaked up the gravy, and made it a soggy mess. The only saving grace was that the waitress was incredibly kind, patient, understanding and sweet. My partner ordered eggs benedict, which I have also ordered there before. The eggs Benedict is legit. It’s good. Order that.I understand prices have increased but it’s ridiculous to expect someone to pay $17 for an unseasoned bloody piece of ground beef when they ordered a steak. At least call it what it is on the menu.

Cute cozy breakfast/lunch in downtown Salem Oregon. Delicious homemade taste with sizable portions at a fair price. Courteous and friendly customer service.Kid-friendliness: Kid friendly breakfast favorites

Good food however the COST of 17.00 bucks plus tips made the ham and cheese omlett almost 20.00 bucks for just one person! Can't afford to eat out with those prices. Which BTW is posted online (for 13.00) BUT I was informed by staff " we don't have a web site".Okay, can't eat at a local restaurant because it just plain is out of reach, financially.

I've been here NUMEROUS times with my co-workers (of all colors) and they've always welcomed us with a smile and have been nothing but kind. If there's anything to nitpick, it's that the portions have got smaller, but that's just like everywhere else in the country right now while trying to keep the prices down. The food is great and the restaurant is in a wonderful location. If you're in the area and are looking for a good breakfast, this is the place to go.

This is THE place to go for a great breakfast if you're in the Salem area. The food is delicious and has that "made with love" feeling. The staff and owner are very friendly and so helpful. I always enjoy my visits here and I bring my friends when I can, they always love it as much as I do! A solid recommend!

Wonderful restaurant!!!! My husband loved his egg white omelet! And when he wants extra he wants extra & the cook did just that for my husband!!! He inhaled his food! Ohhh and the hot chocolate. I'm very picky about my hot chocolate. If you love a good hot chocolate like I do, iykyk, then this is the perfect way to start your meal here. Sooo yummy!!! Service was absolutely wonderful!!! Never had to wait for a refill!!!!! That's my biggest thing. I hate needing to take a drink after a huge bite & have to pace myself before I can tell the server I need a refill. My drink was just there!!! Fabulous experience!!! When we go back to Salem again, WE WILL BE BACK AT BUSICKS
