I used to go here as a kid on the weekends. Just made a visit today, last time was 1992 for me. We went for the Alex Walker collection. I hope there will be serious funding or fund drive initiated . Some of the exhibits are in need of preservation work. I was a little dissapointed that some fragile items are available to be touched directly and I wish that the staff would make an effort to secure these items. The memory book in the ww2 shrine area should not be on display where the public could touch it. This book should be shown by appointment as it has original ww2 service photos. For the most part it is still a great museum.

The museum has an extensive collection of artifacts on display. Some of them are not related to their area of interest and some of them are not museum quality. The museum's treatment of Native Americans is incomplete and dishonest. The amateur paintings that depict historical photos of Native Americans are particularly unfortunate because they lack artistic merit and convey less information than the original photographs.

Historical museums in small cities and small towns seem to often have a whole lot more of one type of exhibit (e.g. farm tools) than the other types. This is a nice museum that seemed to balance all the areas. They haveBasement: old farm equipment, cars, fire fighting, logging, kitchen gadgets, musical instruments, and moreMain floor: pioneer settlers and native people, and military2nd floor: mostly taxidermy birds and animals, rocks & minerals, Victorian bedroom, and Abe LincolnTheir exhibit labels were short, but nearly everything had one. In January 2023 it was $5 seniors, $7 adults, and they had a discount for kids but I didn’t notice what it was.

Decent collection of local artifacts but seriously needs to update it's signage throughout. Issues with the white washing of local history. The taxidermied polar bear (and many other animals) was a bit depressing.

Definitely worth the trip and admission while visiting the Tillamook area. There's street parking available and admission is $7 for adults. Staff is friendly and helpful. There are restrooms available on the main floor. There are three stories of artifacts and historical area information. They have a quite large natural history room with a large variety of animals on the 3rd floor. They have old cars in the basement, along with old appliances, radios, typewriters, cameras, blacksmith tools and forestry history. The main floor has a lot of information and photos of Tillamook founders and local industry information and artifacts. Tons of stuff to see...too much to list in this review. Overall we really enjoyed our visit! Would definitely recommend.

I had an excellent afternoon at the Museum. I came for information on Bay ocean which they didn't have up and available, but we're more than willing to go in the archives and get me pictures and documents so I could go through them. Greatly appreciated! I still have much more research to do and the museum certainly will be part of it!

We needed a break from driving and got very lucky stumbling into this museum. It was full of interesting artifacts covering a wide range of life and history. Many of the displays weren't just a brief description either. There was a lot of educational material and commentary. The people who put these things together did a great job. We actually had to pull ourselves away as we needed to get back on the road. A quick or long stop here would definitely be worth it.

A lovely little community museum. It has very detailed exhibits that have obviously been lovingly curated over the decades. Definitely come if you're in the area and want to learn more about Tillamook!

It's eclectic and hodgepodge but it's great for 5.00 and it's a great way to spend a rainy afternoon. There are 3 floors with the top being natural sciences primarily, basement is pioneering Tillamook during the last 1800's and the main floor is military, 4H and little bit of several items.I think my favorite was the architecture of the building itself...tun ceiling, wood accents....was the former county courthouse converted into the museum.
