I'm only giving this bank a 1 star because of the great bank tellers. Customer Service at this Branch is extremely lazy. Absolutely zero help

purple chick hates off of wealthy people because of her background . always rushing people out of banks can't count and just always wanna be noticed she looks like she came to America should be more humbled you made it past the boat, took her name tag off so I wouldn’t report I have so much to prove how I was discriminated if I was one of them white people that was after me being severed she wouldn’t of treated me like that .. she threw 2 black people out that day turned their service down and was constantly picking with people when she’s not even helping them. Her last name is Jhonson and the police can’t pronounce her name it’s an African name but jhonson. Ashame how hateful people are god don’t like ugly.. I walked in there early she turned my business down before knowing what I had which was way less than usual, she kept harassing me and not even helping people and she’s a specialist not a teller bickering with .. then she called a manger the mangas said. Finish your deposit then after she lied or she either got mad and help us then said don’t come back and we are closing your account then I called someone to put something in they account she then turned them down not even a teller that is saying this . Also she said she’s closing people accounts calling people names saying they are on drugs jealousy

Santander bank is the WORST bank anywhere!!! I have had three bad experiences at this bank. First and foremost the ATM are very restrictive. Santander debit card doesn't allow withdrawal from any Wawa ATM that means a $3.00 charge this is very inconvenient for so many reasons. That means I either go to CVS or Santander ATM. My second experience I was charged an overdraft fee after I paid a bill from the wrong account. I called and emailed that I would transfer the money immediately. The CSR never mentioned that the bill would be rejected as a overdraft. The CSR said she would note the account. Now the third and last straw. I visited the Ardmore branch to request foreign currency. The branch manager James is a super douch he signed off on the amount calculated by CSR. On Saturday 04/20/19 I went to pick up my currency James signed off on the amount the CSR wrote without actually doing the math so I was shorted a additional $5.00 on top of all the other fees and lousy exchange rate. Now here is the kicker, when I called James on not actually verifying the amount and just siging off his response was, it is what it is!! Well James what it is.....is that you did not do your job and double the CSR calculation. This man could given two sh**ts and he no problem saying in his own limited and lame verbiage.

I emptied & closed my account in August. To my surprise i got a voice mail in October saying my account was overdraft by $1000+. So I call and found out what is going on because I closed my account since August. Only to be told apparently one last charge previous to my closing was not processed yet and it kept the account open, unbeknownst to me. Along with several card charges to an apple tunes account, I Do not own or use APPLE PRODUCTS. So they put in a claim...Great right. NOW IT GETS WORSE.

Along with several card charges to an apple tunes account, I Do not own or use APPLE PRODUCTS. So they put in a claim...Great right. NOW IT GETS WORSE. Then i start getting collection calls demanding i pay this balance, patiently i explained the drama. THINK THATS OK.. i got phone calls from that Santander Bank several times in the weeks. Each time telling me to pay, even though they have on record its fraud & the Fraud people refunded the fraudulent charges leaving $500+ of overdraft charges on the account. I was then told to sign a letter they mailed verifying the location etc of the card and details to what i can remember happened. DID ALL IF THAT GOOD RIGHT nope!!! Now getting more phone calls saying they are going to close the account WHY WASNT THAT DONE IN AUGUST!!!!!! WHATS WORSE this will prevent me from opening other bank accounts etc. WHY AM I BEING PUNISHED WHEN THEY LET THIS BILL RUN FOR 3 MONTHS NOW THEY WANT IT FIXED IN 1MONTH!!! Phone calls have ceased, however, No one calls to give me a status on the refunding of the overdraft charges SILENCE NOW ???? I just received a collection letter for the overdraft fees. This bank STINKS OF DISORDER, MISCOMMUNICATION and LAZINESS.

Look, its not this branch's particular fault. Over the christmas holidays I overdrafted my account due to auto-deposits being withdrawn and not being able to make it to a branch (who knew that they don't have any on Long Island, New York?). That's not their fault. However, organizing my debits in order to maximize overdraft fees are. And I'm relatively certain I can request them not to overdraft my account under any circumstances. I should be able to reject payment if I don't have the funds. I am under the impression (perhaps incorrectly?) that this is a federal law. Sovereign wouldn't after I repeatedly asked them. They refused to waive the overdraft fees--even though this is the first time its happened in 3 years as a customer. They offered to waive one but when I stated I wanted to close my account, refused. Fair enough, its meant to retain me as a customer but I found it classless. They refused to cash my paycheck saying it wouldn't clear for at least a few days so I could close out my account. Despite me using them, again, for 3 years. My checking account is not officially closed. It will accept debits and credits for the next 30 days. So, basically, I didn't close my account. If I happen to miss, oh, I don't know, my cable bill from being auto-debited? I'm sure I'm in for more overdraft fees. Oh, and they didn't tell me this--I had to basically squeeze it out of them. "Are you absolutely certain my account is now closed? I want nothing coming to your bank any more." "Let me make sure, sir." They've been sending me unsolicited pre-approved credit cards. Which, again kind of my fault, I may have accidentally activated by mistaking it for a replacement debit card. Except, here's the fun part, those credit cards aren't actually run by Sovereign. So they can't tell me if I opened a credit card or not at the branch. Despite the fact that their name was slathered all over the card, paperwork and envelope. A few things I want to say at the end of this: First, I'm certain I'm not done with this awful experience. Second, the tellers there are very nice and polite, its not their fault at all. Third, I want to say that I had a 5 dollar balance at the credit union, they cashed my check and they gave me the option of never having my account overdrafted. This was after being rejected at sovereign. So I had to leave the bank, go to a competitor whom I'd never done any business with and they treated me better. I don't want this to be whatever, little guys vs. big banks. All I can say is that I felt that my bank, !MY BANK!, who I trusted with my money saw me as an ATM for themselves instead of as customer and partner.

I needed a letter typed on their letterhead. They helped me immediately and stayed several minutes past closing time to finish taking care of me. Worth the drive for me!
