Acadamy sports and outdoors was very good the fishing selection of lures was limited i believe due to it was the grand opening weakend. But other than that it was nicely stocked with a wide variety of items.

Academy Sports is a brand new store that has been open less than a month.
It is located on US 22 in the heart of Colonial Park, inside the Paxton Towne Centre. An easy reference point would be Target, which is located two stores over.
This store is very similar to DICK's Sporting Goods, but IMO is a tad larger. They have everything you can imagine and are stocked to the gills with inventory possibly due to their recent opening. Prices are on par with the rest of the chain stores, but grand opening sales are still in effect.
One thing that Academy Sports has over DICK's is that they offer firearms sales. I have to admit that this is one of the best stocked firarms/handgun stores in the Harrisburg Area.
If you are looking for any sports related items this store will have what you need.
If you need a quick bite after shopping there are plenty of choices, but I highly recommend Two Brothers Pizza, which is right across the parking lot. This is a family owned business and they treat you as such, with great food to boot.

Went in with my wife and kids to check out the store. I stood in the firearms section at the counter with my 3 year old for almost 30 minutes without being acknowledged. There were two people working, and two other people in the section. I was not going to interrupt the other people, and I was never even greeted by any of the employees (except for the two people at the front door). It’s a bummer because I was so excited to check this place out, as it is right around the corner from our house. I was fully prepared to buy a new shotgun today, but I guess I’ll take my money to Bass Pro or Sportsman’s or an independent dealer. Great selection, terrible customer service.

Great fishing selection! Only con is being asked 5-6 times over and over again about signing up for a credit card, and then being followed by an employee asking us if we signed up 3 different times! yet after politely declining we were still being asked by several employees. Way too overwhelming unfortunately especially coming from a retail worker who also distrubutes credit cards--this was very unprofessionally mannered. Will visit again for fishing stuff though great selection.
