I have been coming to Studio C for over 7 years to get my hair done by Joy Franco. On my most recent visit, I was surprised to see how the salon decor changed from warm and welcoming to cold dull grays (not very flattering for skin tones). The light fixtures are industrial shaped, the nail bar that used to be a class act to see as you enter the salon now looks cheap, like an after thought. I'm sure I am not the only client to notice these unwelcome and unflattering changes. I understand ownership has recently changed hands... it appears the new owner should maybe do some research about operating a successful hair salon. It's like any other business that you purchase, you come in, you get to know your employees, who their clients are.. you get a feeling for the atmosphere that has made this Salon successful before you make changes that could damage the success of the business. It's common business sense.

Note: this review is for the ACTUAL SALON ONLY. I've been going to my wonderful hairdresser Michele for over 20 years and have followed her to multiple salons. She's been at this location for the past 11 years (I believe). I found out during my haircut today that Studio C & Spa has recently changed ownership. I don't know what vision the new ownership is attempting to convey, but the energy feels all wrong. - the interior paint scheme that was a late Summer/Autumn theme has been replaced with stark grays and black - the plants are gone - the warm furniture at the front has been replaced with gray filing cabinets and gray hairdryer style lights - the exposed roof has been painted black What was a positive, warm, friendly location now resembles a stark, cold, almost prison cell vibe. Everyone there today, customers included, seemed a little stressed. I suppose that's a natural reaction when blacks and grays are the predominant colors. I really like Michele"s work and will continue to support her by patronizing whatever location she's at. HOWEVER, I hope the new ownership takes into consideration the opinions and feelings of the actual clientele and strongly thinks about reverting the recent theme changes. If not, longtime clients such as myself may have to rethink where we spend our hard earned money. If I want a "trendy, Melrose" style salon, I'll just go to West L.A..

This review is for the salon not my stylist. I have a great hair stylist, Michele. I've been going to her for over 20 years. For 11 of those years, Michele has been in this salon and I have enjoyed coming here. Today, I didn't. I came in today, the interior of the salon was repainted industrial gray, the plants and wall hangings were gone. I found out they are under new ownership and the warm salon I love to come to, is now dark and sterile. I don't know if they are trying to be "Trendy". I don't come here for a "Trendy" salon. I would go to Hollywood or downtown LA for an impersonal, trendy experience. I come here for a great cut and color and a relaxing experience. The color of the walls throw off the color of my hair and skin tone. I believe when you go to a salon you are going to look and feel good. I looked at myself in the mirror and was washed out. That's not the look I come in to get.

I love Studio C! Christen cuts and colors my hair and made a huge transformation for me into a fun and perfect experience. My color came out amazing, the cut is EXACTLY what I wanted. It feels healthy, and I feel beautiful. They are flexible with scheduling, super customer service oriented and a great local business! I highly recommend!!!

I got my hair done by Susie a few months ago. Love the new shorter hair! She worked with what I wanted and she recommended what would look good with my face. I moved out of the area and will be commuting 2 hrs to get back to her when I'm due for my next hair cut!

I WILL NEVER GO BACK the olace is dirty, they trick me into using their services Mani and pedi . I came into the place telling them I had an appointment at 2 p.m and got there at 150p.m the owner's wife told the manicurist I had an appointment and she forgot to tell her so she ask me to wait iwas using a Groupon for a location on the second floor and I did not know when I was done she with the service she wrote me a ticket and told me to pay then they said the place was on the second floor that they were sorry . I call that lack of professionalism and been Dishonest.
