The gelato was really good but the flow from the counter to the register was kind of confusing. Needed to walk back and forth for gelato, for coffee, to pay the cashier… wish it was all in one location. Nice place though!

The pistachio gelato was creamy and nutty and I would totally have it again. The tiramisu was moist and flavorful.
Gran Caffe L’Aquila was a landmark caffe located on Piazza Duomo in the capital city of the Abruzzo region. In 2007 Gran Caffe L’Aquila won caffe of the year for all of Italy, but was then tragically damaged in the devastating earthquake of 2009 which destroyed the city. In 2012 Italian gelato champion Stefano Biasini met Local award winning restauranteur Riccardo Longo which led to the rebirth of one of Italy’s most beloved cafes in Philadelphia. We proudly feature gelato hand crafted on site as well as four house roasted coffee blends, a rotating local Italian city focused weekly special menu, wines from all 20 regions of Italy, and an Italian cultural & language school that meets on Saturday.
